John Deere Dubuque Works is seeking a product engineer to work in the Backhoe Powertrain Group as a drivetrain application engineer.  In this position, you will:
  • Design drivetrain components and systems to meet product goals.
  • Participate in designing vehicle systems.
  • Provide work direction to modeling resources.
  • Define test requirements and support testing activities.
  • Communicate design changes and write reports to support conclusions.
  • Assist DTAC (dealer technical assistance center) personnel to quickly resolve field cases related to powertrain components.
  • Design and implement changes to current production product to meet warranty and material cost reduction goals.

 
 
Education
  • Four year degree in Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering or equivalent experience.
 
Required Skills and Experience
  • 3+ years experience drivetrain engineering position.
  • Basic knowledge of drivetrain and powertrain systems including engines, transmissions, and axles.
  • Experience with CAD systems.
 
Desired Skills and Experience
  • Experience with torque converter driven drivetrain systems.
  • Industrial or off-highway engineering experience.
  • Pro/E experience.
