John Deere Dubuque Works is seeking a product engineer to work in the Backhoe Powertrain Group as a drivetrain application engineer. In this position, you will:

John Deere Dubuque Works is seeking a product engineer to work in the Backhoe Powertrain Group as a drivetrain application engineer. In this position, you will:
- Design drivetrain components and systems to meet product goals.
- Participate in designing vehicle systems.
- Provide work direction to modeling resources.
- Define test requirements and support testing activities.
- Communicate design changes and write reports to support conclusions.
- Assist DTAC (dealer technical assistance center) personnel to quickly resolve field cases related to powertrain components.
- Design and implement changes to current production product to meet warranty and material cost reduction goals.
Education
- Four year degree in Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering or equivalent experience.
Required Skills and Experience
- 3+ years experience drivetrain engineering position.
- Basic knowledge of drivetrain and powertrain systems including engines, transmissions, and axles.
- Experience with CAD systems.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Experience with torque converter driven drivetrain systems.
- Industrial or off-highway engineering experience.
- Pro/E experience.
