Job Description
DRAFTSPERSON/CNC PROGRAMMER The Draftsperson prepares all drawings needed to complete an engineering project, and makes all approved revisions to original prints. Prepare accurate and specific drawings from the Project Engineer's sketches of fabricated parts, purchased parts, and literature drawings. Prepares complete and accurate assembly drawings for use by manufacturing. Will keep all drawings up to the company's drafting standards. Maintain all drawing files during the project's development and maintain supplies for the Drafting Department. Assists in service call questions that arise from sales and repair calls. Run blueprint copies, if necessary, for service calls. Makes all revisions on the original prints from the results of approved ECN's and related bill of material changes. Will perform necessary graphic work for prototypes, artwork on project dial layouts, and silk screens for Product Engineering or Marketing. Will be trained to utilize the CAD system to produce and store accurate and specific drawings. This position programs parts for CNC Laser, Punch Press, Press Brakes, and Machining applications of new design or redesigned products into the manufacturing operations. Provides technical assistance to other functional areas as required. Evaluates each program for best utilization of material and run time. Works to improve existing production methods and procedures to increase productivity and upgrade quality. Assists Production Supervisors in instruction/training of employees in new methods. May be asked to perform a variety of special assignments as requested or determined by the Manufacturing Engineer Supervisor. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates MUST be proficient with AutoCAD, Solidworks, and some form of 3D.
