Now, let's hope you know who Spider-Man is, but if you do not, here is a breaf description of what it is. In 1962, Spider-Man was introduced to the world as a comic done by Stan Lee and drawn by Steve Ditko. Now, 2002, Spider-Man has been in the biz for 40 years! My goodness! So what is Spider-Man about? Well, it's about a young man named Peter Parker who is the biggest nerd. He is also the smartest kid too. He is in grade 12 and just about to graduate when his class goes on a field trip and he gets bitten by a Radioactive spider. In the movie he gets bitten by a Super Spider. Anyways, after the bite, he starts to discover that he has powers, those of a spider. He can climb up walls, shoot webs out of his wrists (in the comic though, he made his own webbing in the lab, in the movie, he could create it from his body), agility, super strength, and a spider-sense (this is where he can sense when an enemy is going to get him, he can predict the very near future. Anyways, after getting these powers he decides to go into show business (in the movie he decides to wrestle to make money to buy a car). Before going to wrestling, he has a talk with his Uncle Ben (he lives with his aunt and uncle because his parents died when he was six) and it does not go well. He ends up fighting with his uncle, his uncle tells him that, 'With great power, comes great responsibilty'. That was the last time he ever talked with his uncle, because at wrestling, he noticed a robber and let him go, that robber killed Peter's Uncle and Peter went after the robber only to discover that the robber he let go, killed his uncle. Remembering the words his uncle left him, Peter decided to become Spider-Man and protect the world, use his powers for good.
Boy that was long. Anyways, that's Spider-Man! Why do I like it? Because Peter Parker is a guy everybody can relate to, so I guess he's a pretty cool super hero, I also love his powers. Anyways, I hope you learned something, not that it's educational. |
