CWGT California Swing Opens with Victory for d.tuned racing
Wednesday May 4nd, 2005 --- The Toyota Dealers 100 at Long Beach presented by Jonathan Byrd's Cafeteria, the opening round of five-back-to-back CWGT races in California, saw a thrilling race featuring daring passes, brave pit strategy and spectacular speed.
The #7 d.tuned racing Porsche started 7th, with Cohiba starting 32nd in his debut with the team. As the race got underway, both cars gradually worked their way up through the pack, with the #7 in the top 5 early on, and Cohiba making up 10 spots quickly.
In the end, the #7 came away with the victory, narrowly beating astralB7 to the line, after they traded fast laps at the end of the race. Cohiba finished 11th, just one spot out of the points after driving brilliantly all day and benefiting from carefully timed pitstops.
The driver of the #7 said "It's great to get back on top. Our season has been strange up until now to say the least. Cohiba showed us what he's made of and the team proved that they can do the job. It's brilliant. Thank you everyone."

d.tuned takes Humpy Wheeler's 500 Lap Enduro Spectacular at Bowman-Gray.
Sunday April 23 2005 --- In a thrilling race, the d.tuned racing team collected it's 2nd race win of CWGT4. Driving the Rae-Rae #7 d.tuned Porsche, the car performed consistently throughout the day, constantly swapping the lead with the competitors.
Starting a dismal 31st, d.tuned immediately got to racing, rocketing to the front of the field, fighting for the lead with kahauna dreamer, Padre, mommymushbrain, TheStranger and others. At the end of the race, the d.tuned Porsche was in second place, when then leader, mommymushbrain, attempting to lap a car, got spun out - demonstrating her lack of counter-steering skills.
The Rae-Rae mobile rocketed into the lead, and never looked back. Mommymushbrain gave chase, but in the end, d.tuned scored its second win of the season. Owner of Rae-Rae communications said "It's great to see the car win a race. The team flew a bunch of the workers here just to see the car, but to see it win? Wow."
d.tuned racing wins Nosring 100 Millen - 2nd win in a row for Porsche!
Sunday April 17 2005 --- In only the third race of the 4th CWGT Season, and the third race for d.tunedracing's new Rae-Rae Communications Porsche, The team started the Nosring 100-Miler from the outside pole with cartcanuck starting ahead and Sparky behind in 3rd.
At the drop of the flag for the 71-lap race, cartcanuck rocketed into the lead, with the #7 d.tuned Porsche hanging on in second, just about 7 seconds behind, until the first group of cars pitted. At lap 35, when the field got back in order after those who pitted rejoined, the d.tuned Porsche was in the lead, two seconds ahead of Sparky.
When cartcanuck needed to make pit stops lap-after-lap to fix his rear wing from earlier contact, the race effectively became a three-horse race, as Mike123z proved competitive in the race after starting in 8th. The race ran it's course with the d.tuned Porsche, Sparky and Mike123z battling up front and trading positions as they pitted.
With 10 laps to go, Sparky pitted, giving the lead back to the d.tuned Porsche and Mike123z followed into second place, but by then the #7 was a full ten seconds ahead. In the next ten laps, our over-paid driver dropped the hammer and ripped out another incredible ten seconds, to win the race by 21.01 seconds over Mike123z, and 43.60 ahead of Sparky, who just held off kahauna dreamer for third.
d.tuned owner, Denith, said "It's bloody brilliant! We're here in the new car, in the new season, with new sponsors and we've got a win for the season. Our driver did a fantastic job today, and the team got the car setup good, and the strategy was perfect. It gives us some points, and a spot in the All-Star race at the end of the year. Thank you to all our sponsors: Rae-Rae Communications, Fictional Sponsors Inc, F.U.: The French University --- everyone. And thank you fans!!"
The team will celebrate with a party at d.tuned's factory in Trinidad, with complimentary Gramma's Own being served all night, plus non-poisonous beverages courtesy of our friends at McBVision Racing. This race win give d.tuned racing and the driver third in the team and driver championship respectively, and gives Porsche the lead over Sauber-Mercedes in the constructor's championship.
d.tuned racing wins Cleavage Creek Cellars Fine Wines 250 from Mesa Marin Speedway!
Tuesday March 29 2005 --- After investing millions in it's new R&D department, customer service centres, and threatening the bosses of the CWGT series, d.tuned racing received a late Easter basket when they won the Cleavage Creek Cellars Fine Wines 250 from Mesa Marin Speedway.
After starting 30th in a field of 34 cars, d.tuned's team and driver drove a tactical race to move up to 5th by lap 205 of the 500 lap event. With 100 laps to go the car was in the lead, having lapped all of the field but Goobers in 3rd, and SpeedQueen, just 4.2 seconds in back in second place as the cars raced around the 1/2 mile oval.
Despite the top-three having to make a last minute stop for fuel, the d.tuned racing Nadira/Jaguar managed to re-emerge in the lead, over 6 seconds ahead of Brake Check, who did not pit, and held on for the win.
At the end of the race, the driver said "It was a brilliant race, the team gave me a great strategy, and a car that was perfect with heavy fuel loads. I'd like to thank the outgoing sponsors Nadira, Vodafone, gnuclear and Orange - we wish them well in their future endeavours. We'd also like to thank the people at Jaguar for this season's chassis; also the d.tuned RDT, and Rae-Rae Communications, who, although the name isn't on the car yet, has really stepped up to the plate and was a huge part of this victory - Thank you!"
