BAND BIO
It was April 2000...
when Marcus joined the existing line up (previously together for 1 year) to form
down.to.size. Within 3 months the sound had turned vicious and there was enough
material for a live set. The following 6 months were spent gigging around
Melbourne and regional Victoria, averaging over 200 punters in their home town
Geelong.
Upon receiving a demo, DW Norton of Superheist contacted the band, requesting
that they record their debut with him as an engineer/producer. Down.to.size then
spent a week recording six tracks at the Back Beach Studios in Rye, Vic, to be
released as a debut EP somewhere in the future.
During 2001 interest turned to negotiations with Shock records, and down.to.size
finally signed in November 2001. DTS are due to release their debut EP
"DoModal()" in April 2002 on the Shock Imprint label, "Noise
Idol".
They said it...
"Separating itself from every pseudo metal and half-assed garage band in
the city, down.to.size is a band doing its very best to take heavy music
somewhere its never been."
Drew Watson, FORTE MAGAZINE
"Geelong newcomers down.to.size are about to set a new standard in heavy
music in Australia"
DW Norton, OUTSIDER MAGAZINE
"This Geelong band plays it's own brand of heavy, dynamic, metal influenced
music which seems much more interesting than most other attempts at this
genre... This is a band that gets straight to the point. If you like your music
hard rockin' but feel that most of the bands in the genre are regurgitating the
same old sounds, this could be a breath of fresh air."
