There are LOTS of videos (you need RealPlayer) about all kinds of populations and communities! eNature's Field Guides will provide you with detailed information about various populations. If you chose to do the "ZipGuide", you can see all kinds of organisms that live here in GA! (Make sure that you see the categories under the map!) A Walk in the Woods - okay, to be honest, the guy's voice is spooky, but this video/audio tour is pretty interesting for homework! Make sure you have your sound on! American Field Guide takes you to several interesting ecosystems. This site even has video clips - scroll to the bottom to view them! Symbiotic Relationships Chart - a handy chart of the types; short and to the point. Symbiotic Relationships - a long page that has scads of photos and text describing relationships of all three types. Browse through so you can aquaint yourself with as many as you can. Mutualism - examples and descriptions with some very nice photos! Commensalism - same site as above, but this page is about commensalism Symbiosis in the Forest - interesting read and short! Ancient Farmers of the Amazon - - a video clip; click on the VIEW button, but you might have to hold the control key down if you have disabled popups. Creepy Crawlies - Think you are alone? Think again!! Click on "House" and "Body" to investigate the organisms that live in symbiosis with YOU!! Another game with the ideas from this chapter; this one is just like Who Wants to be a Millionaire! (No, I don't actually give you the money when you win!) Play this game to prepare for the Chapter 22 test! This one is Battleship. If you have never played this great old game, call your parents and ask them to help you learn the basics; it's easy and fun! |
