Mary counted fingers, counted toes,
Then sang to Him awhile,
And was the first in all the world
To witness Jesus' smile.
God had a plan for Jesus,
And like Joseph and his wife,
We need to trust the Father's plan
For every human life.
Then some day in the future
The world may be a place
Where we all see the smile of God
In every newborn's face.
Sweet Gift of the Father, with love sent to earth
We kneel before you, proclaiming your birth.
Our world has forgotten your purpose for life
Restore us to wholeness; end hatred and strife.
Please enter our hearts, Lord!
Renew us within!
Oh teach us to cherish all life once again!
