unfortunately in december of this year my grandfather passed away.
altogether not the best circumstance under which to take a trip. however
the positive side of the situation was that due to my grandfather's
passing my father flew me back to saskatoon for the funeral. funeral;
"what's so positive about a funeral?", you ask. well i'll tell you:
first of all pretty much everyone in my family knew that my grandfather
had a good, full life. secondly, it was sad to lose him but i still
have a lot of good memories so i haven't really completely lost anything.
finally, i got to see almost my entire family while i was in town, not
to mention re-visiting the city in which i grew up (it hasn't changed
a bit; really, not at all).
now that i've depressed you completely, here's the good part, the photos
of me and my relatives whom i had a pretty good time with all things
considered. i event went drinking with my oldest cousin curtis (pretty
good for a guy who dosen't drink). i also got to stay with my aunt pat
and uncle jerome, see my aunt evelyn and unkle elmer (look up farmer
in the dictionary), watch my cousins charline and heather play softball
inside a golf dome, and a few other interesting things. also, all of
my cousin jackie's stories seem to end with her husband shooting a wild
animal.
so as you can tell it wasn't really a sad trip at all. |
