DT: Hello, How are you?.
N: Find
DT: When & why the band was formed? (current line – up).
N: The band as been formed by me (ROB THE WITCH), the reason, its only because i was wanting to have my own band an play my own music, so I formed NECRONOMICON in1988 but we started the really business in 1991 when we released our first Demo. The actual line up is : ROB « THE WITCH» Vocals and guitars , RICK drums, FREDRIECH Bass.
DT: Are you natural from Québec?.
N: We are all from de Québec province in living in Montreal, but in mean way the tree of us are from a region more up north called Saguenay, its 6 hours by cars from Montreal.
DT: How old are you?.
N: We are immortals hahahahahahaha! no seriously I think our ages are not importent here so I'll pass on that if don’t mind .

DT: Who put the name and why the name of NECRONOMICON?.
N: I chose the name , at the time i was looking for a name that was sutting the theme that a was about to speak in my band, I mean by that life, death and reincarnation, NECRONOMICON was the proper name for that because of is meaning : «things that are related to death pratices customes and laws» roughly shortened as book of the dead or death.
DT: Do you prefer H.P. LOVECRAFT or STEPHEN KING?.
N: Definitly LOVECRAFT even if its been years that I have been reading it, I quit on that kind of stuff very long ago.
DT: What do you think about the Art of H.R.GIGER?... Do you know the Books, GIGER’s NECRONOMICON?.
N: Yes I know it , well at least one , GIGER is a great artist but very gloomy and like I said I am not into that anymore .
DT: Your influences?.
N: Life it self, the experiances that i have lived and the things that I have seen as spiritual being . Musicaly I thing RUSH I one but now I cant say about a metal one hahahaha! i am just not into metal alot. Well MERCYFUL FATE and JUDAS PRIEST are bands that i think are very good and probably my favorite along with old KISS stuff , but I dont think those are big influences in my way to compose my music.
DT: What memories do you have about your first days in the Metal days?.
N: Thats a good one. If I think about it I have always been into Metal or Rock , because at the time the name Metal was not really used,. I don’t know what to answer, as long as I can remember I have always been working on the project to have my own band so its like its the only thing that I always had in my head hahahahaha!

DT: Your Demo 1991 is available?.
N: No, but we will work on that some day in the future, i mean to re -release it because there is alot of demand, for now we are to busy to take care of that .
DT: When did you start playing?.
N: I think its somewhere 21 or 22 years ago hahahahaha! time pass really fast you know.
DT: What do you think about Skihneads, Skaters, Punks and Straight Edgers?.
N: Nothing , they don’t bother me so I just don’t care about what they do, they are living beings like everyone, some are dumb ass's other are not and its the same for all categories of people.
DT: Do you like drink beer with piss?.
N: I don’t know what is the thing with piss dude but I drink beer haahahahahaha!
DT: What can you talk me about your “Silver Key" EP 1996? .
N: Well its been hard on the recording, my drummer from that era was not really good and we lost a lot of money in studio because of him, the second thing is that the guy behind the mixing board was more into doing the things his way and not the band one, so we had to deal with that during the entire process of the recording, mixing . At the end it was not bad but still. Business wise the album was doing great and we had the chance to finally make our mark bigger than in the past with the tittle song t«The Silver Key» who is stepping stone in our career.

DT: Are you crazy for cocaine?.
N: Not at all, no one in the band are into drugs beside drinking.
DT: Tell us about the Canadian Underground Scene please.
N: I think its not different from anywhere else, you got alot of small bands babeling on the back of those who got some success and the other ones who just try to go higher. Well for the real underground I dont know because I dont conceder our band like underground into the Metal industry ( way to talk) there is some bands who are way more underground than us. So I cant say.
DT: Your fave Canadian food?.
N: Hahahahaha! I dont know I mostly eat asian and italian food .
DT: Do you like STAR WARS?.
N: Not more than that........I'm more into japanimation.
DT: BEN JOHNSON is your idol?.
N: Hahahhahahahahaha! funny . not really......hahahaha!
DT: What do you think about Religion, Church and Pope?.
N: Oh well they do there shit and I do mine, I dont care about them.
DT: Are you into Boxing?... Do you remember TREVOR BERBICK and DONOVAN “RAZOR” RUDDOCK?.
N: Never heard about this guys, I'm not into boxing sorry, don’t like sports except soccer.

DT: Do you think that wearing chains, blood, make-up and all that stuff is important for you image?.
N: I dont wear this so its really simple is in it ....hahahahha!
DT: Your
musical influences?.
N: KITARO, YOKO KANO, RUSH, KISS that’s all for me I think I cannot speak for the other guys.
DT: Rate the following Canadian Bands on a scale of 1 to 10.? 1 being somebody who totally sucks, and 10 being great.
N:
ANNIHILATOR 5
ANVIL 5
CRYPTOPSY 1
EXCITER 2
GORGUTS 5
HERETIC ?
INFERNÄL MÄJESTY 4
LEPROCY ?
MALICIOUS INTENT ?
OBLIVEON 5
PILEDRIVER 3
PURULENCE 6
RAZOR 8
RUSH 10

DT: What do you know about Peru?.
N: You have been persecuted by the PISARO and is mans, you were a great and proud race back then, and have a sacred insense called «copal» I think and you are waiting for the return of the divine one. I could say more but I could be very long...too long hahahahaha!
DT: Talk me about your Debut album “Pharaoh Of Gods” please.
N: ThePharaoh of Gods project as been a very hard and probably the hardest album hat I have and will ever put on the market. The studio sessions was so long , I took 10 months to finish the entire process , we have been framed by the studio our label from the time and the problems was always getting biggers and endless. During the recording itself we have been forced to restart everything from the begining when we were very close to the end. We changed 3 time the guy behind the board and at the end have been I 'm the one who tried to save the project, with the result that we know. After that its our label from that time (HYPNOTIK RECORD) who was going into BANKRUPSY and because of the contract we had we lost the album for 2 years and a half. Because all of that my drummer of that time JEFF quit and my bassplayer KATE had a nervous break down , and this are just the great line their is more but it would be too long. So, after that I retreived the album and I sold it to Unique leader record , its only then that I could say that the real stuff began for that album , it was in 2001 or 2 years after the date after the original release, 6 months later with a new line up we started the Touring support across the Canada for the pharaoh album with KATAKLYSM. After 1 month on the road with headed back home , and I conclude for my self that at least this album would not been done in veine. So this is roughly the thing about the Pharaoh of Gods album.
DT: Do you consider the album “The Sacred Medicines” like your best production?.
N: Yes but it not like I wanted , again, lack of time and budget was the greatest challenge this time , after the Pharaoh experience our bank account was nearly getting back to normal, thanks to the tour we made, but still the money was not suficant to do everything we wanted, so we dealed with what we could deal with . I think we did great for the money we had but its gonna be better next time .
DT: Your future plans?.
N: We are working on touring this fall for the Sacred medicines album , until then we will probably work on some new songs for the next album, thats about it for now.
DT: Your last growl for DT. Readers….. where can they find your stuff?.
