DT: Hello, How are you?.
Torbjørn Sandvik: Fine thanks! We are closer to colder times…

DT: When & why the GLITTERTIND was formed? 
Torbjørn Sandvik: It was formed in 2001 because I was tired of playing in rip-off bands. I wanted to do my own thing spellbound by Mother Nature, Nordic tales, -art, -traditions and –history.

DT: Your musical influences?
Torbjørn Sandvik: I mainly listen to Metal, Punk and Nordic folkmusic.

DT: Who put the name of the band and why?
Torbjørn Sandvik: GLITTERTIND is the name of one of the highest mountains in the majestic mountain rage "Jotunheim" in Norway. Many people call this part of Norway the "heart of Norway", so the band name was very suitable.

DT: What memories do you have about your "Mellom Bakkar Og Berg" (Demo 2000)
Torbjørn Sandvik: My first Demo was a great pleasure to record…I did it when I was 16 years. There are some really cool tracks there…

DT: When did you start playing?
Torbjørn Sandvik: I started playing guitar when I was thirteen years old. I started to play in bands when I was fourteen and that’s how I really learnt to play some drums, guitar and bass.

DT: What do you think about Skinheads, Skaters, Punks and Straight Edgers?
Torbjørn Sandvik: 
Skinheads – Alcohol and street-fights
Punks – Anarchy in the UK
Skaters – Kids
Straight Edgers - hmmmmmm

DT: Your fave Norwegian food?
Torbjørn Sandvik: Pinnekjøtt

DT: What do you think about Religion, Church and Pope?
Torbjørn Sandvik: 
Religion – Åsatro!
Church – The only thing interesting with them is under it.
Pope – Isn’t he dead yet? Too bad…

DT: Do you think that wearing chains, blood, make-up and all that stuff is important for you image?
Torbjørn Sandvik: Not at all, so I don’t do it..hehe

DT: Your musical productions? (include rehearsals, demos, etc…) If you have more recording than those appearing above.
Torbjørn Sandvik: Mellom Bakkar og Berg was a Demo distributed by ULTIMA THULE REC. It came out spring 2002. Limited to 1000 copies. Evige Asatro was a Demo distributed by ULTIMA THULE REC. Spring 2003. Lmt. 1000 copies. Heathen Soil was a Demo lmt. to 10 copies. Sent around to labels February 2004. Leading to contract with KARMAGEDDON MEDIA.

DT: How did the idea of "Evige Asatro" Demo 2003?
Torbjørn Sandvik: I wanted to do my own thing spellbound by Mother Nature, Nordic tales, -art, -traditions and –history. 

DT: Tell us a little more about the "Evige Asatro" Demo 2003?
Torbjørn Sandvik: It was released very underground but many people liked it. The version out on KARMAGEDDON MEDIA has 10songs from this demo, 2 songs from my first demo and a brand new song!

DT: Do you know ASGEIR MICKELSON?
Torbjørn Sandvik: No, but he play drums for Borknagar…

DT: What topics do you consider in your lyrics?
Torbjørn Sandvik: Mainly about Mother Nature, Nordic history, tales and traditions. And inside these themes there are several topics which interest me.

DT: How do you describe your style?
Torbjørn Sandvik: Hybrid between Folk, Metal and Punk!

DT: What do you know about Underground Peruvian Scene?
Torbjørn Sandvik: Nothing.

DT: Your fave European bands?.
Torbjørn Sandvik: FINNTROLL!!!

DT: What do you think about Voo – Doo, Black Magic, Satanism and UFOS?
Torbjørn Sandvik: Boooooring! Nothing for me. I like to keep my feet on the ground so to speak…hehe

DT: SCREAM MAGAZINE is the most important Norwegian Mag.?
Torbjørn Sandvik: It is Norway's most selling Music Magazine, and longest running - no matter genre. It’s the most important Mag of course!

DT: Do you beleive in God?
Torbjørn Sandvik: I believe in one or several supreme intelligences far beyond man. I think every religion has the same roots and that is from “heathen” religions. If you want to get closer to religious issues, one should look there…

DT: Do you have the recordings from old times availables?
Torbjørn Sandvik: Nope…it’s all sold out!!

DT: Were you into Punk Rock? What do you think of the Punk Rock Scene of the Late 70’s?
Torbjørn Sandvik: I like bands like RANCID, BAD RELIGION, SEX PISTOLS, FORBIDDEN RAGE etc. I am not that into the late 70s music scene simply because I am too young to have been a part of that.

DT: Who designed the GLITTERTIND's logo?
Torbjørn Sandvik: SKRYMER in FINNTROLL! Great isn’t it?

DT: Tell me about your "Evige Asatro" album 2004 please
Torbjørn Sandvik: It’s out on KARMAGEDDON MEDIA now! Ten songs is from the Evige Asatro demo, two songs from Mellom bakkar og berg and a brand new song from this spring is also on it. It has a brilliant coverartwork made by SKRYMER (FINNTROLL). Everyone who like beer should check this record out…

DT: Which one do you consider your best recording?
Torbjørn Sandvik: I like Lindisfarne – 793/Karl den Store the best! Check it out on www.glittertind.net !

DT: Of all your productions, which one has given you the most satisfaction?
Torbjørn Sandvik: Definatly “Evige Asatro” on KARMAGEDDON MEDIA! It’s a record I stand 100% for!

DT: Your future plans?
Torbjørn Sandvik: Another record in 2005! Get a whole band and get to Peru and play concerts!

DT: Your last growl for DT. Readers….. where can they find your stuff?
Torbjørn Sandvik: I don’t know where you guys can find my music…You have to dig deep because my record is not licensed to America…Anyway thanks for this interview! Cheers to ye all!
