Hello how are you?
Iudex:
I’m just fine thank you.
DT:
When & why the band was formed? (current line – up).
Iudex:
The band was founded in 2002. I had been planning to start a pure Black Metal band for quite a while, and I started to look for a drummer. I found IRATUS. We recorded a Rehearsal Demo, and here we are.
DT:
Why the name of GJENFERDSEL?.
Iudex:
GJENFERDSEL is a made up word. ‘Gjenferd’ means ghost / spirit. So ‘GJENFERDSEL’ is some kind of a spiritual journey from the death.
DT:
Your influences?
Iudex:
Mostly everything influences me. Hatred towards mankind, but also the beautiful natures of Norway.
DT:
Who put the name of the band and why?
Iudex:
I did. The band name just came to my mind, and I thought it would fit the band.
DT:
When did you start playing?
Iudex:
Well, I personally have been playing for about 10 years. But as a band we’ve been playing for about 2 years.
DT:
What style do you play?
Iudex:
We play a mixture of Dark- and Black - Metal. Someone would probably call us New School Black Metal.
DT:
What do you think about Skinheads, Skaters, Punks and Straight Edgers?
Iudex:
I don’t care actually. I must admit I don’t like Nazi - shit, but I’m not bothering. I don’t care that much about what other people do.
DT:
Do you like drink beer with piss?
Iudex:
Vodka and whiskey is the thing!
DT:
Are you crazy for cocaine?
Iudex:
What kind of question is that? If you have to use cocaine to feel the music, you got nothing to do in the scene. You have to be clear in your head to have the right feeling.
DT:
What do you think about Religion, Church and Pope?
Iudex:
I’m not that fond of religions. Personally I got a anti-religious attitude. Still, I must say that old Religions such as the Norse mythology fascinates me.
DT:
Do you think that wearing chains, blood, make-up and all that stuff is important for you image?
Iudex:
Not necessarily, but I think that in a genre like Black Metal you got to keep the tradition with using corpse paint alive. It also adds a lot to the atmosphere around the band.
DT:
Your musical influences?
Iudex:
Hard to say.. Satanic Warmaster and Pest maybe..
DT:
Are you into computers? If you are, what kind of computers do you use PC, Mac or Sinclair ZX-81, Atari 800 XL, Commodore Vic 20?
Iudex:
No, not that much. I’m only using them to check mail, surf the internet and so.
DT:
How did the idea of "Det Kom el skip til Björgvin" Rehearsal Demo?, thanks for my copy !!!
Iudex:
It came from a book with the same name. The book is about the black plague, and I found it very fascinating.
DT:
Tell us a little more about the "Det Kom el skip til Björgvin".
Iudex:
Well, it deals with all the pain and suffering from when the black plague came to Norway. We wanted to bring forth all this through our music.
DT:
What topics do you consider in your lyrics?
Iudex:
Pain, suffering, but also other things such as the nature of Norway.
DT:
What do you know about Peruvian Scene?
Iudex:
Nothing.
DT:
Your fave European bands?
Iudex:
Pest, Satanic Warmaster, Arthemesia etc.
DT:
What do you think about Voo – Doo, Black Magic, Satanism and UFOS?
Iudex:
Not into it at all. Even though Satanism can be fascinating.
DT:
Do you beleive in God?
Iudex:
No.
DT:
What topics do you trade in your songs?
Iudex:
Pain, suffering, but also other things such as the nature of Norway.
DT:

Iudex:
No.

Were you into Punk Rock? What do you think of the Punk Rock Scene of the Late 70’s?
Iudex:
I’m not that into punk rock. I used to listen to some older Punk when I was younger. But that’s quite some time ago.
DT:
Who designed the GJENFERDSEL´s logo?
Iudex:
Myself.

Your future plans?
Iudex:
Record and release our next Demo “Thurs”, and of course to get drunk.
DT:
Your last growl for DT. Readers .. where can they find your stuff?
Iudex:
