Hello
Enclosed is the answer to the interview.

Micke

DT:
Hell - o MICK how are you?
TP: Hello, Iam fine thanks.
DT: Tell us about your debut Demo "De Mörka Makters Alla" and about your contact with GOTHIC RECORDS (USA) .
TP: "DMMA" Demo was recorded very short after we started the band, maybe three months after the forming. It contained 8 songs and sold around 500 copies until we stopped selling it. The music was more in the classic Swedish vain with a lot of melodies and stuff like that, it doesn't represent the band today. We shipped out demos to tons of labels at that time and one ended up on GOTHIC RECORDS which liked it a lot and offered the band a contract for one CD.
DT: Why the album "Under iskall Trollmåne" delayed per years?.
TP: I am still not sure why it took GOTHIC three years to release the album. I guess they were flat broke and couldn't afford the printing. We thought back then that it should remain un-released but suddenly it existed and later it was re-relased.
DT: "Svart Gryning" Promotional Tape is available now?.
TP: "Svart Gryning" promo was never ment to be released, it was a promotional thing we made in order to establish another deal, and it did, we signed the PULVERISED contract soon after they heard it Three of those songs was later released on "Where only the seasons" album.

DT:
What can you talk me about "Kristallklar Vinternatt" 7" EP?.
TP: It's a four song 7"EP that also was ment to be a promotional tape, kind of a pre-production of "Where only the seasons album" I sent out some copies to friends in the underground and DAVID at PARANOYA SYNDROME in Switzerland got a copy and asked if he could release it on a 7"EP, we agreed and he released it. Two songs are on "Seasons" album aswell but this EP versions includes Keyboards performed by our pal KARL BECKMAN (ex MITHOTYN). The EP was limited in 500Copies and sold out just weeks after the relase.
DT: When you established the contact with PULVERISED RECORDS?.
TP: We signed with PULVERISED early 96 I think. They had just started the label and released the first mini CD with AMON AMARTH and searched for more bands to release, the saw an interview with us in a Mag and asked me to send our stuff, to see if it might be something for them, Some weeks later we got a contract on 3 albums which we agreed to sign.
DT: We mention a name, and you give us your thoughts.

DT: Who designed the THY PRIMORDIAL's logo?.
TP: MORTH did the main design, ALBREKTSSON has made the final result.

DT:
Do you consider "Where Only The Seasons Mark The Paths Of Tim" your first great cult gem?.
TP: It was the second album, recording wise but for our fans it's our debut since it was released more then a year before the real debut. Musically, and recording wise "seasons" album is far away better. I haven't listen mush on it, during the last three years, but I think there are some great stuff on it for example "Svart Gryning" and Hail Unto Thee
DT: What is your opinion about the female vocals in Black Metal?.
TP: The only great female Death/ Black singer I know about is ANGELA in ARCH ENEMY.
DT: Tell us about your album "At the World of Untrodden Wonder", this album was recorded on the legendary SUNLIGHT STUDIO?... do you consider this piece like the most classic THY PRIMORDIAL's cult gem?.
TP: Well, I don't see the whole album as a classic release, but there are some outstanding bits, for example to ruin and decay, fatal journey and Revealed Throughout the Ages. As for the recording it was a fucking mess from day one to the last one. If we knew what we knew after recording we had relocated the session to another studio. Meanwhile we recorded the album we had to share the studio with two other bands and all other people that just "hanged out" there. FRED and TOMAS was so fucking busy so they were just around during the drum recording and the mixing in the meanwhile we started to work late afternone when the other bands quit, and worked til late night, we simply just met them in the door and said hi to each other and told us to look the door when we left. But it was no bigger problem after all, MORTH who runs his own studio took care of most things, actually so good that he was hierd as Producer soon after our recording.
DT: How do you describe "The Heresy of an Age of Reason" album?.
TP: This is a really special album for me, the whole album is a two man show, MORTH took this sunlight job and wasn't around when we created this album. So me and ALBREKTSSON started to create the material in my living room, and created the whole album with a drum machine as stand in for MORTH and a small home studio equipment where we created the pre productions so all other members could listen and rehearse. It took almost two years to write the album. This way of writing the album gave some sort of inspiration, we worked a bit more on melodies, harmonies on the guitars which I think turned out great. When it was time to record the album we decided to use sunlight again, since MORTH made a deal with TOMAS SKOGSBERG, we could use the studio for as mush as we liked during five weeks, for a very good price. It was a great experience, I also think that ISIDOR made the an outstanding vocal performance on this album.

DT:
Which is the most Powerful Black Metal Scene in the world?.
TP: I say, the Norwegian scene is the greatest one around. The Norwegian band is a bit more different compared to each other. The Swedish scene is more in the same vain as all others, with a few exceptions
DT: Do you prefer VENOM or BATHORY?.
TP: Nighter, Iam no bigger fan of any of those bands.
DT: How was your first work with BLACKEND RECORDS?... "The Crowning Carnage"?.
TP: After "Heresy" album our deal with PULVERISED was fullfilled and since we thought that the label suffered of economical problems we decided to find another label. So we shipped out promos to other labels and soon after we received some offers, the BLACKEND deal was the best one to choose between. So we started to work on a new album, with the same conditions as "Heresy", exept that NILSSON quit the band after the "Heresy" Crowning took abit shorter time to write, this time we decided to change recording location and try something new, so we got in touch with TOMMY at ABYSS and he agreed to record the album.

DT:
The "Where Only The Seasons Mark The Paths Of Time" / "At the World of Untrodden Wonder" (DCD) Remastered Re Issued is available?.
TP: Throughout the years many fans of the band has been in touch with us claiming that our albums wa almost impossible to get hold of, so when PULVERISED closed their business they asked us if we knew a label who might be interested in the masters and the license of the earlier CDs. We asked BLACKEND and they liked the idea. Which made Where only the seasons....., At the world .... and The Heresy ..... a lot easier to get hold of
DT: What do
you know about Peruvian Metal Scene?.
TP: Nothing, I can't remeber that I heard a single band from your country.
DT: Which was the reason for ISIDOR for leave the band?.
TP: He was told to leave. We thought his dedication wasn't near the other members dedication. On the last album session he almost didn't show up at all, when he finally came he stayed for 24 hours and left as soon as possible, the same shit in the rehearsal place, he showed up for maybe ten minutes listen a bit and then left, not even mention his thoughts on the material, so we basically lacked out of this attitude and fired him.

DT:
What can you talk me about your last production, "Pestilence Upon Mankind" with the new singer, NICKE HOLSTENSON (former NOMINON)?.
TP: It's a 10 song long affair of extreme Black Metal. Compared to the older releases it might have a bit more influences from death metal bands, without taking away the soul and the trademark of the band. I feel that this album has more in cummon with "Heresy" then "Crowning". "Crowning Carnage" album was, a bit 'empty" somehow, several parts could easily been more produced, especially the guitars. On "Pestilence" we worked a lot harder on the details, the fact is that almost the whole album was recorded in a small studio before the Abyss session just to see what things could be improved. As for NICKE, I think he made a hell of a job. He came in the band pretty close to the recording so he didn't have many rehearsals, but he nailed the vocals very fast. He is pretty mush the opposite of ISIDOR since he cares alot and always comming up with his ideas and thoughts both music and lyric wise.
DT: Your future plans?.
TP: Rehearse, try to establish a new record deal, and eventually record another album.
DT: Your last comment for DEATHTHRASHER's readers?.
