Interview for DEATHTHRASHER MAGAZINE by ARMANDO MUTILATOR :

Hey again, these are the answers for the interview. Me and SABINE (our female vocalist ) answered them ..

DT: Hello, how are you?.
JP:
Hello ARMANDO, we are good .

DT:
When & why the band was formed? (current line - up).
JP:
The band was formed in summer 2000 . We wanted to cover some Heavy Metal classics and so we did . Then we took it to the next level and started working on originals with a big change in style and members ..

The current line-up :
SABINE : Vocals
JP : guitars and vocals
PAUL : guitars
WISSAM : Bass
PASCAL : Drums
MOE : Keys

DT:
How old are you?.
JP:
I'm 22
SABINE , 21 the other members are two years older , except the keyboardist , he is 19 .

DT: Your influences?.
Sabine :
Lyrically speaking, I always found poetry quite inspiring, I love EDGAR ALLAN POE and EMILY DICKINSON. in addition, my favourite lyricist would be AARON STAINTHORPE from MY DYING BRIDE ..

JP :
As for me, JAMES HETFIELD was a big influence to me ... and I would mention CHUCK SHULDINER from DEATH and ANDREW CRAIGHAN from MDB .

DT:
Talk to me about your friendship with REDOUANE AOUAMEUR
JP :
I know Redouane over the net only , he seems a really nice guy , he did a good job in promoting us in LELAHELMETAL.com , and we really appreciate it .

DT:
Who put the name of the band and why?.
JP :
A good friend of ours suggested "Chimera" and we really liked it , then we had to change it into KIMAERA since that one already existed .

DT: When did you start playing?.
JP :
I started playing guitar like 4-5 years ago , other members have been playing their instruments from 6 or 7 years , it depends on each one of us. As for the current line-up, we've been together for 2 years now or so ..

DT:
Do you have problems with heroin?.
Sabine :
If u mean us having anything to do with Heroine then no , we keep our distance from such stuff .

DT:
Tell me about the Metal Scene in your country please.
JP :
Our Metal scene lacks real support but It is growing everyday , there are a good number of Metalheads considering such a small country as Lebanon and lots of bands (though most of them are cover bands), so it is ok for a start , but we really need much more than that to be compared with worldwide Metal scenes .

DT:
Do you think that wearing chains, blood, make-up and all that stuff is important for you image?.
Sabine :
Not at all , that's why we dont wear any of those.

DT: Your musical influences?.
JP :
Our influences are quite varied , from heavy to Gothic / Doom and Death Metal .. and the result is what we play nowadays , which is a mixture of all these ..

DT:
What topics do you consider in your lyrics?.
Sabine:
Our lyrical themes are very varied.. they mostly talk about the humans' conditions .. quite realistic topics, historical, dark romance ..

DT:
Your musical Productions?.
JP :
We only released a single till now called GOD'S WRATH. It is really hard to produce and release anything METAL in this country since u get no support whatsoever , so we have to do it on our own , and it is taking us lots of effort and work ..

DT:
Who designed the KIMAERA's logo?.
JP:
I did it actually , when Pascal our drummer found the cool font that we used for it ..

DT:
Your future plans?.
JP :
Yup ,hopefully we will release a full length maybe entitled "Ebony veiled", with 7 tracks basically .. We r currently working on it .. or we might just settle for a Demo , depends on how things turn out to be ..

DT: Your last growl for DT. Readers….. where can they find your stuff?.
JP :
Our stuff can be found in our site www.kimaera.org since it is only a single "God's Wrath" till now but worth downloading and checking out to have a good idea about our music and what to expect... Hopefully , new stuff are in the way . Keep Metal alive , Thank u !!
Thank u Armando for the interview, plz let us know once it is online so we can
check it out :)

Best Regards ,

KIMAERA .
