Interview for DEATHTHRASHER MAGAZINE by ARMANDO MUTILATOR : 

DT: Hello SARKE how are you?.
Sarke: I'm ok

DT: Do you remember your days in TULUS?.
Sarke: Of course, great days back then. Almost 10 years. I'm still very satisfied with all our releases.

DT: Tell me about your first Demo and about the first contact with MOONFOG PRODUCTIONS.
Sarke: Me (SARKE) and GARD got 2 new members and we went to the studio to record a Demo to get a new deal. We gave it to MOONFOG and SATYR liked it and signed us.

DT: Who put the name of the band and why?.
Sarke: Not sure I understand the question, but I did. I gave the band the name KHOLD.

DT: Why EIKIND (Bass) left the band? and where and how do you knew BRANDT (RED HARVEST)?.
Sarke: He did not fit the band so good, so we looked for a new bassplayer. In the meantime BRANDR did play for us. We have known him for a long time, since 1989 or something. But now we have a bassplayer called GRIMD.

DT: Why BRANDT (Bass) left the band? and how do you contacted with the new bassist GRIMD?.
Sarke: BRANDR was only playing with us until we find a new one. GRIMD is a friend of us. Known him since we were kids. We all grew up in the same area.

DT: Your musical influences?.
Sarke: MAYHEM, DARKTHRONE, SLAYER, OBITUARY, CELTIC FROST.

DT: It's very important for KHOLD write the lyrics on Norwegian?... what topics do you trade in your songs?.
Sarke: Yes, for us it is important with Norwegian lyrics. It fits us the best and gives us much more inspiration. Its just the way we want it. Our lyrics deals much about death in different ways. Stories from old Norway.

DT: SARKE talk me about your experience with OLD MAN'S CHILD.
Sarke: Me, GARD and RINN was live musicians for OLD MANS CHILD. It was a great time. Lot of touring. It gave us and opportunity to travel around and to get some live experience.

DT: What do you know about South American Scene?.
Sarke: I only know that the fans are very true and dedicated. 

DT: "Masterpiss Of Pain" (2001) is the first great step for KHOLD?.
Sarke: I guess so. We got a lot of great response on that album. The same goes for the other 2 albums. I think we have our own style and sound within the black Metal scene today. Seems like many like that.

DT: All your cover arts are amazing, who is your Graphic Designer?.
Sarke: I agree, it looks great. The weird thing is that 3 different persons has done the cover art. We have also used 3 different photographers. So new people on each album, but still it has the same style. 

DT: Tell us about THE ACT OF REBELION TOUR 2001 with BEHEMOTH and CARPATHIAN FOREST.
Sarke: It was good to see many people came to see KHOLD.

DT: Do you remember the CHAOTIC CHRISTMAS FESTIVAL experience, with bands like RED HARVEST and DROTTNAR?.
Sarke: Yes I do. It could have been more people, but it was ok.

DT: What can you talk me about your second album "Phantom" (2002)?... do you had problems with ANN FRESTAD?.
Sarke: We recorded the album with SCWEIN (SVEIN SOLBERG). It turned out good and we got lots of good reviews. I feel it is many good songs on that album. We worked very hard with the layout. If you have the album you can all see the many pictures in the booklet and the small photo stories there. The lyric is also very dark and good. No problems with ANN, Why should we have that? 

DT: Why KHOLD left MOONFOG PRODUCTIONS, tell us about your current work with CANDLELIGHT?.
Sarke: We feel that CANDLELIGHT is a step up for us. In Norway we have sold twice as much as PHANTOM just in a few month. So far CANDLELIGHT has done a ok job.

DT: Tell me please about your performance on the INFERNO METAL FESTIVAL NORWAY... you played with BORKNAGAR, RED HARVEST, CREST OF DARKNESS... etc...
Sarke: Ok, you talk about the festival in 2001. That concert went great. First band ever on Inferno Festival. We had a very good and high powerful sound. Awesome.

DT: What can you talk me about your new album "Mørke Gravers Kammer"?.
Sarke: We are satisfied with the new album. Dark cold Heavy music all the way. There is also a video on the CD. Just put it into your computer. All CD you can buy contains the video. The track is "Død".

DT: Your future plans?.
Sarke: Norwegian tour, European tour and hopefully America next year. Also we hope to release a new album late next year.
