Interview for DEATHTHRASHER MAGAZINE by ARMANDO MUTILATOR :

DT:
Hello, how are you?.
Walid:
Hello DT, doing fine here, thanks for asking.
Anthony: Same for me, just a little bit tired.

DT:
When & why the band was formed? (current line - up).
Anthony:
The band was formed back in 1998 because I was obssessed with chaos and Metal at that time like nowadays. WALID is the one behind the terrifying vocals, RIAD does the blasting drums and I am behind the music composition.

DT:
Your influences?.
Anthony:
I guess it is the turmoil occupying this insignificant life, and my sick brain.
Walid: Wrecked Societies.

DT: Talk me about your friendship with REDOUANE AOUAMEUR and your participation on LELAHEL METAL VOL. 1.
Walid:
Well REDOUANE is a good brother of mine, and a great supporter of the underground, I'd help him in any possible way, and I am certainly satisfied in taking part in the LELAHEL METAL VOL. 1 compilation.
Anthony:
Enough said already, he is a really good friend and he does a really good job.

DT:
Tell us about the Civil War on your Lebanon.
Walid:
Well what can I tell you about it, it was filthy as fuck, and hopefully history wouldn't repeat it self for Lebanon and our chronicles with wars.
Anthony:
Well if you would go to Yahoo search engine or google and search for "WAR IN LEBANON" you would find endless topics from different views. After all, the war in general never stopped in lebanon it is just like an ocean, it has its ups and downs. Civil war is famous because it was brutal to those who realized that they are fighting themselves, anyway it started in 1975 and stopped around 1990. But there were wars before and after with different aspects and different countries.

DT:
Who put the name of the band and why?.
Anthony:
Chaos was/is my obssession so I was determined to find a fitting name for this twist. It all started with Chaotic wolves but I thought it was just another typical name, then Chaotic decade, Days of Chaos, then Chaotic Years or something till Chaotic Aeon popped in mind and a friend told me why not merging the two words and that was it before it changed to KAOTEON. This name is the best since it is as well defining the spirit of the band.. we do not talk about forests nor do we talk about wizzards and religions nor any of these dreamy fairytales. We talk about the disgust we experience in our day to day real life.

DT: When did you start playing?.
Anthony:
As for me, I started idividually on my instrument since a long time but I started as a one man band with KAOTEON almost the end of 1998, beginings of 1999 but it would have NEVER been the same if I didn't meet that damn shrieking brother of mine WALID.

DT:
Do you have problems with heroin?.
Anthony:
At this period of time I would say "it is just another tool to identify the fool".
Walid:
Yes I have a problem with heroin. I'm against it.

DT:
Tell me about the Metal Scene in your country please.
Walid:
Pretty fucked up, the bands are fighting to survive, with no support from anyone locally, the goverment is against metal music, and the good supportive fans dont exceed 100.
Anthony:
I agree! Sad but true!!

DT:
Your fave food from Lebanon?.
Anthony:
I fucking love our special raw meat meal(Kassbeh) with Araq (alcoholic lebanese drink) and our local beer is good.
Walid:
hmm my favorite Lebanese food has to be Chinese food Hah, nah I actually can digest anything that doesnt move.

DT:
What can you talk me about your Debut Demo 2004 "PROVENANCE OF HATRED"?.
Walid:
Well honestly it's one of my favorite albums, we managed to save some money and sneek into the studio for a few hours to get it recorded, and the result was brilliant I'd say.
Anthony:
It is a good feeling to headbang with your friends on your own material and get some amazing feedbacks especialy that the conditions in which we composed and recorded the demo were really low.

DT: Do you think that wearing chains, blood, make-up and all that stuff is important for you image?.
Walid:
I don't mind wearing chains, but don't like all the blood and make-up part.
Anthony:
Well I do not support these things, I hate fashion and this is in one way or another a fashion... I wouldn't mind the chains!!! or the bullets maybe an army on stage headbanging altogether But that MAKE-UP thing which is called corpse paint nowadays to sound more "man"nish is just not my thing??? I guess the music and the ppl behind the band make the image, not some fashion club.

DT:
Your musical influences?.
Anthony:
All good and well composed music.
Walid:
Too many to count. But none were applied in "Provenance of Hatred".

DT:
What do you know about South American Scene?.
Walid:
nothing much, but from what I hear it is one of the sickest and most brutal scenes in the world! I certainly dream of playing there one day.
Anthony:
There are some great bands from there, starting with VULCANO and SARCOFAGO to HOLOCAUSTO and bands like sepultura, inquisition and many more, well I am pretty sure that there is an interesting blowing audience there and I AM MORE THAN READY TO GO AND BLAST MY HEAD WITH THEIRS IF WE EVER HAD THE CHANCE TO PLAY THERE.

DT:
What topics do you consider in your lyrics?.
Walid:
Society in general, leftovers of the civil war, the Israelian invasion, prejudice, lies, the current situation in Lebanon, and the morbid hatred that roams this land.
Anthony:
The non existing freedom, the ignorance that is highly spread, the wrecked society, the shitty economy and brainwashing superiorities and of
course KAOS.

DT:
Your musical Productions?.
Walid:
didn't get your point here.
Anthony:
Productions???? if you mean musical "producer" then hell no hehe, maybe one day some major respected label will adopt our material and produce it.if you mean what do we have as products then We have the demo so far and we are looking forward to deliver more offerings soon.

DT:
Who designed the KAOTEON's logo?.
Anthony:
This current logo is made by a guy called MIGUEL CASTRO from Mexico, well he has ALUZINE (an underground zine) and he liked our work so one day he sent me this logo and We liked it a lot since it is firm and really solid so now we use it until maybe a better logo pops up one day.

DT:
Your future plans?.
Anthony:
A new release will be taking place soon if we had the money and the time to enter another home made studio.

DT: Your last growl for DT. Readers?.. where can they find your stuff?.
Walid:
SOUTH AMERICA! KEEP IT FUCKING SICK! KEEP IT BRUTAL.
Anthony:
QUOTING MORBID ANGEL FROM A LIVE SET: "MY FRIENDS, THIS IS THE DAAY OF SSUUFFERRRIINGG "..
Those who once destroyed Will be severely damaged... SUPPORT.
