Independent Study Lesson Planning
 Good for advanced students,  re-enforcing topics, building on current lessons, sources for any subject.
Trackstar - This site has lessons built for independent studies or just good sources for building any unit- (my favorite for lesson planning of any kind)

Scavenger Hunts - Great to teach whole class in groups or independently

Math Lesson Planning and resources

Lesson Unit Studies- Entire units on different math concepts that explore the subject deeply.
Interactive Applets-use as a virtual manipulative for different math concepts.  Required to be downloaded.
  • PBS TeacherSource- This is linked to math sources with standards to match, but the site offers the same for all subjects.  Fantastic!
  • The ABC's to Excel  -An excellent resource to aid you in using spreadsheets in your classroom , as well as give you ideas for uses of spreadsheets and how tos. Interactive graphing helpers also create ease in making a graph.


Language and Reading Lesson Planning
Reading TEKS toolkit- put out by UT Austin- talks about 3-Tier and various other reading resources
Collaborative Projects -These you can use with your classes to communicate with kids around the globe.  Fun to look through them and get ideas.
  • E-Pals classroom exchange-  excellent resource for connecting to other classes around the world or locally to share ideas and exchange student work,etc..  **Requires you, the teacher, to sign up
  • Pen Pal Exchange - Write to your pen pal via email.  This is a safe alternative and there are classes all over the world you can sign up with to talk to. **Requires you, the teacher, to sign up
  • Global Schoolhouse - The are units that can be done together with other classes. Great for collecting data, sharing writing projects, etc... **Requires you, the teacher, to sign up
