| William was born in 1835 in Brighton, Sussex and was the son of William Valentine Ballard and Mary Ann Hayllar. He was baptised on 23 August, 1835 at Saint Nicolas' Church, Brighton and his parents lived in Devonshire Street, Brighton. He died on 1 May, 1848 at Brighton Hospital from scrofula and was buried on 7 May, 1848. | |||||
