| Thomas was born in 1874 in Bury, Lancashire and was the son of Edward Ballard and Susannah Simpson. On the 1881 Census she lived at 21 Buxton Street, Bolton, Lancashire. On the 1891 Census he lived at 23 Buxton Street, Bolton, Lancashire and was an apprentice iron moulder. On the 1901 Census he lived at 10 Chemist Street, Bolton, Lancashire and worked as a general labourer. | ||||
