James was born on 19 March, 1912 at 179 Peel Street, Tranmere, Birkenhead. He was the son of Forest Ballard and Jessie Oman. On teh 1891 Census he lived at 15 Abbott Street and worked as a grocer's boy. On the 1901 Census he lived at 23 Sydney Street, Birkenhead. He got married to Jessie Nyren Hill on 26 December, 1908 at the Saint Catherines' Church, Birkenhead. In 1912 he was an agricultural labourer and later became a quarry labourer and baliff.. In 1920 he moved with his family to the Isle of Man. He died on 17 October, 1964 at Noble's Hospital, Douglas, Isle of Man from coronary thrombosis. He lived at Glenaspet Cottage, Patrick Road, Saint Johns, Isle of Man. |
