| Grandad was born on the 5 November, 1912 in Puddington, the Wirral. He got married to Vera Edmond on 12 September, 1939 at the Methodist Church, Atholl Street, Peel, Isle of Man. He had a number of job during his life including a window cleaner, a bleach factory worker, poet (example below) and a lay preacher. He was a very religious and happy person and helped a lot of people. He gave me a lot of information concerning my research just before he died on 10 September, 2002 from a heart attack. He was living at 74 Jodrell Road, Whaley Bridge, Derbyshire. His ashes were sent to the Isle of mine to be joined with his wife's. | ||||||||||

| For my 88th birthday Help me dear Lord to make this year the best year of my life, For this is the second year Ive lived without the presence of my wife. On November five I became alive in the year of nineteen twelve I know that God has plans for me I am determined not to shelve Nothing will stop me achieving what God has called me to do and he will see me through. Nothing is impossible if I my lord obey, When I keep my eyes on Jesus for he changes night to day. The world is crying out for Love, Lord fill me with that Love, For Thou art mine and I am Thine 'till I live with Thee above. James Alfred Ballard November, 2000 |
