Raisa and Azhith-Riders
back.....
I am bred of Falas, I carry good genes, why can't I go to Draco's Inferno Weyr? Azhith, irritated that her rider had refused her request to fly elsewhere, demanded.  Raisa sighed, and reached up to stroke Azhith's headknobs.  Grooming Azhith was a chore that now took a good half of the afternoon...she'd grown to such a large green.  But Azhith wanted nothing of comfort.  Her time to fly was growing closer and closer, and her violant, mood shifting attitude and impatience with her rider were the telltale signs.
"Because love,"  Raisa replied testily, growing tired of her dragon's antics, "They don't have many males....we'd be a burden...."
I am no burden! Azhith roared, and stomped her foot.  And look now, I'm hungry.  You've cruely neglected to take me to feed for two days now!  It's a wonder I'm still strong enough to eat at all!
Raisa cringed, unused to such harsh words from her once  loving dragon child.
"C'mon love, we'll go now..but let's consider staying here to fly, shall we?  Let the golds have the Inferno dear, go somewhere else."

No.  Azhith bugled then, and started to move restlessly.  Raisa threw her arms up in disgust.  This was going to be difficult..and Azhith still had sevendays to go before she flew at all!  It was obvious the mottled green wasn't going to be like some other greens and stay relaxed and well, normal, until she flew. Raisa had best decide how to get along with her dragon now, if this was going to work with the least amount of trouble.  For a start she should probably allow Azhith to rise at the Inferno...
Good. Azhith rumbled happily, and Raisa rolled her eyes.  Maybe she should just ignore her dragon. Raisa didn't enjoy the mental barrating she got from Azhith for that thought, so she turned her mind elsewhere.
What would it be like when Azhith did fly?  Raisa knew she wasn't a flirty woman like many other greenriders...she was nervous enough kissing a man...let alone knowing him.  Would she get a weyrmate out of this?  She hoped not.  She'd long decided her mind wasn't set for love, not yet anyway.  But she was still frightened of the future.

Don't be. Azhith said calmly, undergoing yet another mood swing from raging demon to sweet, comforting hatchling.  Raisa didn't know how much longer she could take this; it set her on edge and she couldn't relax.  She just hoped Azhith would fly sooner than expected and get it over with.
