Xvirith was amazingly normal sized for a partially white twin.  Raeniel, taking a rare moment to just drink in how beautiful Xvirith really was, couldn't believe how lucky she was.  A relatively normal sized dragoness, female, blue, and absolutely perfect tempremental-wise as well.
Raeniel shook her head with smugness.  Good thing Xvirith happened to be asleep-she wouldn't appreciate that last comment, and Raeniel didn't feel like explaining how good of a thing that really was.  So many other dragons were haughty, or shallow, or too shy and quiet, or too loud.  Xvirith happened to be absolutely perfect, despite her lack of a sense of humour.
As a weyrling Xvirith had tried all sorts of things to prove that she, like her siblings, was as funny and goofy as every weyrling had a right to be.  She failed miserably, and was the butt of many jokes because of it.
But Raeniel was beginning to notice the calming aspects coming through in Xivy.  And in herself.  At twenty three Raeniel was almost certain her roving moods were coming to an end.  The last bout of restlessness had been two sevendays ago, and Xvirith had cured it with a trip back to Beach Shards for a nostalgic visit.  Xvirith was angry that they'd left Beach Shards, but Raeniel didn't feel right about staying.  At that time in her life, she had had to be moving somewhere new; presenting new challenges.  Settling in at DawnSisters wasn't exactly easy either.  Too many rumours going around for Raeniel's taste, and Xvirith's, but all in all it was nice.
Raeniel had also made a hard decision before ever considering leavng Beach Shards.  Since Xvirith was a mottled blue, a female mottled blue, with rare parentage and several rare siblings (one which also now resided at DawnSisters Weyr!), Raeniel had chosen not to give her dragon firestone, and instead chose to keep Xvirith fertile.
So she and Xvirith flew with the queen's wing, since they had to use flamethrowers and all, but they were officially parts of Nusuru.
Raeniel shook her head, why was she thinking about all this now?

Yes. Xvirith asked groggily as she yawned. Why are you thinking about all this now? A pause.  What were you thinking about anyway?
"Where I'm taking you to rise goose."  Raeniel teased, and Xvirith snorted.
I'm nowhere nearer to rising than you are.
"Hardly likely sweetheart, seeing as how you're a bit over three now, and two Mayhe and Amera both agree it will be any day now, and we'll be seeing the first signs."  Xvirith tossed her head-a human trait she'd picked up from Raeniel-and laughed her draconic laugh.

Weyrwomen, what do they know?  Not me, that's what.  I'll tell you once, and I'll tell you now, I'll never rise. Xvirith bugled loudly then, and immediately requested being taken to feed.  Her eyes were whirling unusually fast, and unusually angry looking.
Raeniel complied by sending off her dragon, and noting how forecfully Xvirith seemed to jump off the rock ledge outside their weyr.  Raeniel sighed.  Sooner or later Xvirith would be rising, and it looked like it would be sooner.
