Quinalt Weyr-DawnSisters Weyr

I'lan looked over at his sleeping brown Numarth and smiled. It was only four days past since the lovely creature had hatched, and I'lan wanted to memorize how the hatchling looked before he started to grow much. He still wasn't smitten with his dragonet like some of the other new weyrlings were, but looking at Numarth still filled him with a sense of completion. He'd received three letters from DawnSisters congratulating him on his Impression here at Quinalt, and had even gotten a small note from Yarua saying how happy she was for him. I'lan only wished Corru was here to share in the triumph. Corru had been Ithialin's staunchest supporter when it came to the idea of Impression. The new I'lan missed that.
But it there was no more liking boys for this one, he was now strictly girl-loving, if only for Numarth's sake. He was sure Corru would have understood. It wasn't as if Corru was here anyway, to change his mnd. Yarua was though, and if Yarua Impressed a green....No use thinking about it. Yarua was a candidate, although she didn't really want to be, and she might change her mind completely and do something else. Dragonriders weren't supposed to be monotanous anyway. It was wrong to their dragons.
Fardling dummy.I'lan thought to himself, and started to make his way towards his lessons. He hadn't attended any so far, and although it wasn't required unitl tomorrow, he felt he should make his way over today. Triss would be there, and he felt he should use this opportunity to get to know his sister better. Faranth knows how suprised he was when Triss showed up at Quinalt one day. He'd thought she'd come for a family visit of some kind, to get away perhaps, but she'd been Searched, and she'd Impressed. I'lan was a little jealous when his sister Impressed at her first hatching, and he hadn't Impressed until his fifth, but having Numarth made up for it. It was worth the wait, and if Triss found her life partner sooner, then that was good for her.
Wonder how relieved mother is that two of her children won't need her care anymore? I'lan thought absently, and then saw a familiar figure walking ahead of him in the distance.
"Triss!" He called out, and went to walk with his sister towards weyrling lessons.
