(1 month later) "Emily are you ready, they're gonna be here any minute" My Mom asked from my door way "Don't worry I'll be there for their grand entrance" I said and closed my bathroom door. Ever since I found out about Frankie, my dad, and that my Mom had lied to me, I ignored her. Call me spoiled, a brat, or a bitch. I don't care. Jessica was the only one who I told about what was going on and she was the best. She let me sleep over whenever I needed to talk, or didn't feel like staying home. 5 minutes later I was dressed, but didn't feel like meeting them. If this was under different circumstances I would have been actually HAPPY to meet Frankie from Dream Street. Now, it's a whole different story. I was waiting for Jess to come, because I didn't think I could get through this by myself. DING~DONG "Emily, Jessica is here" I heard as my Mom greeted Jessica, and footsteps towards my room. "Hey girl, how you holding up?" Jess asked as she sat next to me on my bed "Could be better" I said and laid my head on her shoulder "Hey don't worry, Frankie must feel the same. I mean he's been lied to his whole life too" She tried to reason.. I laughed "Jess, did you realize this is the first time we said his name without making a comment about his looks?" I asked "Yeah, but I mean I can still think he's a hottie right?" She asked smiling "Sure" I answered laughing at her worried expression. 10 minutes later the door bell rang again. Me and Jess were watching MTV, when we heard my Mom call. "Girls, can you please come down here".. I looked at Jess, and she got up. "Let's get this over with" I said as we walked down the stairs and into the living room, where Frankie, along with an older guy who I assumed was my father, and the rest of Dream Street was there. Your probably thinking that having Dream Street in your house was the BEST thing that could happen to you, but in this situation it just made me more nervous. I figured that they were there for moral support, same as Jess. They were all sitting together, except Frankie was sitting between my Mom and dad. Whoa, that felt weird calling him 'dad'. By the looks on his (Frankie) face I don't think he was happy to be here, and the fact that my Mom kept hugging him. "Mom, why don't you let him breathe a little!" I said as a matter-of-factly. They all looked at me and my Mom got up. "Emily I want you to meet your brother. This is Frankie" She said as Frankie got up. He walked over to me and forced a smile. "Hey, it's nice to meet you" he said as he extended his hand. I took it and gave him a fake smile. "Sorry can't say the same" I said as I felt a poke on my left side where Jessica was standing, I looked at her and she gave me glare. "Emily, that's enough. This is Jack" My mom, said as the elderly guy got up, and pulled me into a hug. I didn't return the hug, considering I had no clue who this dude was, so I just stood there. Frankie had sat down near the guys, and they were talking about something. For about an hour we just sat around. We were introduced to Chris, Jesse, Matt, and Greg, but it wasn't one of those warm greetings. Yes, they were nice, and not to mention 10 times hotter in person, but this whole thing was weird. They asked me questions, and asked if I was a fan. I admitted it, and that was the end of that. "Hey Mom, me and Jess are gonna go down to the beach, we'll be back in an hour" I said as we got up and got our jackets. I forgot to mention that it was our summer vacation, and that I lived in Massachusetts. Even though it was summer, we brought our jackets because it was supposed to get cold later on. "Why don't you bring the guys with you?" It was more of a statement, than a question coming from my Mom. "Sure, you guys wanna come with us?" I asked trying to be nice "If it's OK with you?" Greg, who was the only one who seemed not afraid to talk to me, asked "Sure" I said and walked out. It was a 10 minute walk to the beach, and no one said anything. We got there at 6, so I figure we should leave around 7, because that's when it gets crowded again. |
