Chapter 2
The Dos and the Donts

The morning seemed to fly by, and before we knew it, it was lunchtime.  I went to my locker and got my lunch.  I quickly went over to Chris locker where he told me to me to meet him.  He was facing his locker putting up pics of Brittany Spears from what I could tell and didnt see me coming.  I quietly snuck up behind him and pocked him in the sides to see how ticklish he was.
OMG! Chris screeched as he jumped about 10 ft in the air.  He turned around to see me laughing hysterically and almost in tears.
I didnt think u would jump that high! Did you know you scream like a girl?  I said between laughing and trying to catch my breath.
Ohh you are soo gonna pay for that later! he said with a devilish grin, and yes I do know I scream like a girl and Im proud of it!
Yeah, uh-huh, whatever dork.  Lets see ya just try and get me back! But for now lets just go to lunch, Im starving! And with that I grabbed his arm and pulled him down the hall to the cafeteria.
When we reached the caf.  I scanned the tables and found the table that I always sat at.  A few of my friends were already there.  We walked over to the table and I sat next to my best friend Lindsay.  Next to her was Senita, Danielle w/ her boyfriend Mike and next to him was Trina.
Hey! I said to all of them.  They all replied back with a friendly Hey! while eyeing Chris wondering who the heck he was.
Hey Gabbi, whos the hottie? Lindsay whispered to me as I sat down.
This is Chris Everyone, this is Chris Trousdale.  Chris tell them about yourself like you did in math. I said looking into his amazing eyes.
Ok, well he went on basically saying the same thing he had said in class earlier.  He added one thing though.  He had been living in NY for a year already and was doing many musical things!  Even better, hot as well as talented.
All through lunch we talked and Chris got very friendly with everyone especially Mike who had promised to introduce him to the rest of the guys latter on.  After talking for a very long time (we have a two hour lunch), I decided to show Chris around outside.  We said goodbye to everyone and walked outside.
When we hit the spring heat, we decided to sit on the stone wall in the shade for a while.
Gabbi, I just want to thank you for doing this for me.  Cause Ill admit, I was nervous at first.  I didnt want to go through this all again and I cut him off.
Wait, again?  You mean you mean you have moved before?  I asked.
Yeah, before I lived in Michigan, I had lived in Florida.  I lived there for 6 yrs before I moved to Michigan.  He sounded pretty sad so I decided to change the subject.
So you want me to teach you the ropes, right?
Yeah, like the people I should and shouldnt hang with and the nice and the mean teachers and th , I cut him off once again.
Whoa! That alone will take hours! I said just imagining what I needed to tell him.  I guess this is a job for the Dos and the Donts List. I said taking a little booklet out from my back pocket.
The Dos and the Donts list?  What the heck is that? he said trying to grab the book from my hand.
Hey, hey, hey.  Back off, youll see what it is. I said opening the book so we could both see it.  Ok, I guess well start with the nice and the mean teachers.  Lets see, Mrs. Smith- Nice, Mr. Ollis- tuff but ok, and I went on telling Chris about every teacher in our grade.
Ok, umm, I lost ya about 30 teachers ago. He said massaging his head.
Well then your gonna have to figure out the teachers out on your own cause I aint going over that stuff again! I laughed.
Fine, what about the kids I should and shouldnt hang with? He asked, cringing at the thought.
Thats pretty easy.  First of all, there are 5 different groups you gotta remember.  The Geeks, the Cheerleaders, the Jocks, the bullies, and last but not least, us middle class people.  Its pretty obvious to tell them apart if you know what I mean
Yeah, it was basically the same at my old school." he said remembering back.
"Ne wayz, you never want to be friends with the bullies or drugies.  Its like ya dont wanna be their friend, but u dont want to be their enemy either, k?"  I said hopping he understood.
"Yea, I think so...."  Chris trailed off trying to log that into his already crammed head.
"Next...are the cheerleaders-"  Chris stopped me, "Now this is getting good!"  He said with his eyes lightin up.
"How did I know u were gonna like this part!"  Isaid laughing.  "Well ne wayz, I'm pretty sure I'm not gonna be able to stop u from drooling over them like every other guy, but if u do decide to go after one of them, pick on of the nicer ones!  Cuz some of them are really sweet, nice girls, and others are ur typical snotty steriotype cheerleaders." (I am not dissing any cheerleaders here! Half of my friends r cheerleaders!)
"Ohhh...ok...but how come all the snotty ones have to be so damn hot?!"  he whinned.
"Awwww... i know it will be tough, but I'll help u through it!"  I said in a baby voice.
I went through telling him about everyone and everything.  Before we knew it, lunch was over.  We slowly got up out of the heat and headed inside the cool building for the rest of our classes.
