GA Alpha Delta Kappa and FJM Scholarship 2004
Alpha Delta Kappa is an international honorary sorority for women educators. Almost 50,000 members make up this strong organization. One of the cornerstones of the organization is funding scholarships for deserving members and students.
In April 2004 Georgia Alpha Delta Kappa celebrated their 50th anniversary in Savannah featuring the music of Johnny Mercer as their theme. The FJM were very helpful before and during the convention providing information, materials, music and speakers. In appreciation the 2,500 Georgia Alpha Delta Kappa members proudly presented the Friends of Johnny Mercer a check for $1,000.00 to be used for their scholastic award this year as they celebrate Johnny's 95th birthday. Georgia Alpha Delta Kappa is privilidged to present with FJM the 2004 Friends of Johnny Mercer Scholastic Award to Colin Agnew to be used for advanced suudy in music.

David and Colin. Colin is a honor graduate of the Savannah Arts Academy where he was a member of the Skyelite Jazz Band. Colin plans to attend Florida State this fall majoring in jazz percussion.
Steve Gerard attended the press conference to represent the Mercer Family. Steve is married to Johnny's niece,Nancy.
Colin has performed in over 250 concerts locally, nationally and internationally. In the summer of 2004 Colin was among the musicians from the Savannah Arts Academy invited by the Chinese government to perform in China.
