The crimson leaves have all fallen
leaving nothing but a core of nakedness
a crisp chill flies through the day
filling everything with frost
summer has past
and soon autumn will follow suit

a ominous gloom begins to overtake the sky
leaving nothing but shadows
scattered all around
the wilted earth below
the greens and reds
the yellows and oranges
have all been drained dry

but as soon as everything begins to appear all meek
tiny little spectacles of hope begin to fall from the sky
blanketing everything dull with a layer of white
reminding those in need of little re-insuring
that from darkness comes light
from light come life
and from life comes love
as each season changes
so do we all
growth comes from the darkest corners

like a seedling sprouting up from the dense,
tough earth below
fighting to break free
to be able to reach for the sky
and the bright light emanating out
from the grey clouds above
enabling the little sapling
to become the vivacious flower
it was meant to be
