Stars now get 4 big points, after beating the St Louis
Blues on Friday 2-0 the Stars strike back and beat the Blues on Saturday
with a 3-2 victory. First, Oliver made a backhand pass to Jason Arnott,
and he ripped the puck in the Blues net. Turning a 1-0 Blues lead into
a 1-1 tie with 13 minutes into the second period. Almost immediately after
Arnott's goal, the Blues responded with a a power-play goal, Bill Guerin
was called for a slashing penalty, Scott Mellanby scored at the 14:37
mark of the second. But the Stars kept trying and finally, David Oliver
ripped the puck into the Blues net to tie the game 2-2 at the 17:29 mark
in the second. Then Jere Lehtinen registered his game winning goal as
he skated down the Blues zone with Turgeon and Barnes. Barnes worked it
over the Turgeon, who made a pass to Lehtinen and he blasted it into the
net. Making it a 3-2 Dallas Stars lead. The Stars held the 3-2 lead over
the Blues for half of the third period. Dallas wins their second game
in a row and catch up with four big points. Marty Turco turned away 21
shots.Stars plan to host their next opponent which is the Detroit Red
Wings. Stars lost 6-2 last time these two teams met. But the Wings just
came off a 5-2 loss from the Phoenix Coyotes. Dallas is 13-6-4-0 home
and
10-14-4-0 away. Stars right wing Scott Young missed his fourth game with
back spasms. He is listed as day-to-day.
Also the Toronto Maple Leafs hold their lead in the Northeast. They held
a 4-1 victory on Saturday over Montreal.
Belfour saved 15 shots-NHL NEWS- Rangers President and GM Glen Sather
announced Friday that the club has acquired all-star right wing Jaromir
Jagr from the Washington Capitals in exchange for Anson Carter.
