Still Standing-
Just in the nick of time. The Dallas Stars were looking for any kind of way to score a goal with less than 10 seconds left in regulation, and Bill Guerin delivered it for the Stars. Bill Guerin scored with 6.2 seconds remaining and the Stars stretched their unbeaten streak to eight games with a 4-4 tie with the New York Islanders on Wednesday night. Islanders Rookie Trent Hunter gave them a 4-3 stretch with 1:47 remaining on his 20th goal. Hunter scored on a backhand rebound off a shot by Oleg Kvasha, who had a goal and three assists. But Guerin pushed a loose puck past goaltender Garth Snow with time trailing down for his 23rd of the season off a scramble in front of the net. Video replay cleary showed that Guerin didn't show any kicking motion officials said. Turgeon's power-play goal with 5:18 left in regulation had pulled the Stars into a 3-3 tie. Kvasha got the Islanders ahead 3-2 when he took possession of a loose puck in the Stars zone, and skated over to the right of Turco and popped one in for his 12th goal of the season. Star's David Oliver also scored, he now has his sixth goal of the season. Turgeon scored a goal which was assisted from Guerin and Zubov.Dallas, who is returning from six days off from the All-Star break, got a point for the tie to pull within four points of first-place holders San Jose in the Pacific Division. Dallas is 6-0-2 in its last eight. The Islanders are 7-2-3-1 in their last 13. David Oliver also scored, he now has his sixth goal of the season.
