After the Stars added a 11 great prospects to the roster, over the weekend at the 2004 NHL Entry Draft and making two trades to earn more picks in rounds one through three. Just two days later, Dallas announced that the club would sign 6-2, 190-pound forward Jaroslav Svoboda from the Carolina Hurricanes in exchange for a fourth round draft pick in 2005.

This guy looks to bring his A game to Dallas, but he also looks to brings youth as well. The Carolina Hurricanes picked Svoboda in the eighth round in 1998. He had eight goals and 14 assists in 91 games for the Hurricanes the last three seasons. The Czech Republic native also played in all 23 playoff games for Carolina when it lost to Detroit in five games in the 2002 Stanley Cup finals.
