Sharks Stomped 3-0-
"Desperation is a good word," Guerin told the AP. "If we go down nine [points with a loss], that's a lot of points to make up. ... I thought we played pretty good in all aspects. We were skating, we were moving our feet and making plays, and that's what gets it done for us.'' The Stars outshot the Sharks 9-8 in the first period and outscored them 1-0. The Stars goal came late in the first period, after the Sharks goalie Evgeni Nabokov stopped a Pierre Turgeon slap-shot, defenseman Brad Stuart tried to clear the puck up the slot. Young picked off the pass and gunned a shot into the net to extend his goal scoring streak to four games. Turco played perfect again in the second period, making a couple more
very nice saves on Marleau and pulling off a brilliant poke check on a
charging Nils Ekman. Now midway through the third period the Star's Richard Matvichuk made a perferct pass to Brenden Morrow into the San Jose zone. Morrow's shot was saved by Nabokov, but gave up rebound and Guerin didnt waste any time and knocked the rebound into the net.
