Stars change netting- The Stars Fans can vote online on for which one they prefer the most-
The Dallas Stars announced today that they will be testing a monofilament [clear] netting for fans during two Stars home games next week. The new netting will be in use during both the January 28 game vs. Ottawa and the January 30 game vs. San Jose. The regular black netting that has been used over the past two seasons will be used in the January 26 game vs. Detroit to help fans pic which one they prefer the most. Monofilament netting has been tested and is now currently being used in seven NHL arenas. Which are(Anaheim, Buffalo, Colorado, Columbus, Los Angeles, Philadelphia and Toronto), Which all where reported positive from the fans. TheCalgary Flames have tested the monofilament nets with their fans, but it was the only team so far which fans preferred the black netting is better. St. Louis has switched from black to a white netting. But so far all the other NHL teams in the league are currently using the regular black netting.

Also Dallas was defeated by the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday 3-0, The shutout by Edmonton's goaltender Tommy Salo was his first ever against the Dallas Stars.

Leafs and Caps-
After a 2-0 victory over the New York Islanders, the Maple Leafs return to action tonight in Washington D.C. Against the Washington Capitals. The Toronto Maple Leafs are the Eastern Conference leaders, will face a test from the Caps, who have earned points in their last five games.

Tucker Hurt-
Maple Leaf's forward Darcy Tucker had left eye surgery on Wednesday and will be out indefinitely.
Tucker was hit in the face by Islanders forward Jason Blake's stick in the second period of Toronto's 2-0 defeat Tuesday night. But Blake was not penalized on the play. Tucker has 14 goals, seven assists and 60 penalty minutes for this season for Leafs.

Heres a look at the Stars next opponent, the St Louis Blues-
The St Louis Blues, who won their last game 2-1 against the Panthers, are currently playing the Columbus Blue Jackets on Wednesday. The Blues are down 1-0 in the 1st period but that is most likely to change, please click here for the last scores! The Blues play the Stars on Friday.
