--- Physical Description ---
An odd looking race, not ugly but not beautiful in today�s standards. They are a leather/hide bound race in there own racial form usually with few exceptions of light fur or heavy hair there coloring tending to be reds, blacks, and blues of some sort. Weather they have 2 pair of legs and 1 pair of arms or 1 pair of arms and 2 pair of legs seems to be in much controversy� even their �legs� could be deemed arms because of the fact there �feet� are grasping appendages having an opposable digit. Number of digits vary from 3 to 6 but one of the set on all 6 appendages. Fairly small, (2-3.5�) the Zheday�Than are deceptively strong and quite quick for there awkward appearance. They are adept at blending in with there surroundings however being able to change form to anything. This has given them the natural ability to be deadly assassins and spies.
--- History ---
The Zheday�Than started out as most pre-historical creatures, forming tribes of hunters and gatherers. Unlike most pre-historical creatures, the Zheyday�Than never formed any government larger. The culture developed into one of tribal monopolies over a particular kind of merchandise, be they baskets or crops. When two tribes clashed, they either joined by alliance or one would wipe out the other, or both. Thus, out of such competition, the culture of the guilds was born from espionage and treachery. As the culture and technology became more complicated and widespread, so did the inherent subterfuge.
The function Zheday�Than modern society is centered around the various current alliances between guilds, which exist in a dynamic flux depending upon current and impending social and political situations. Guild wars can and often do break out, putting parts of the Zheday�Than society into civil war. Such wars, though rarely fought out in the open, have resulted in the development of weapons capable of delivering a great deal of hurt in a short while, allowing the assassin to kill and slip away as quickly as possible. These developments are most evidenced in their multi-targeting starship weapons. The Guild wars rarely last more than a month or so before one Guild is either destroyed and/or assimilated by the other, or a truce or peace treaty is made. Such wars to little to the Zheday�Than Economy, as their culture has evolved to bring in most of its income from outside sources.
The Zheday�Than are more than willing to hire out their specialized espionage and assassin skills to the highest bidder. Mercenaries are always acting as spies or as assassins for one alien interest group or another, mostly those who dislike getting their own hands dirty. As a result, Zheday�Than are looked at with extreme suspicion at the very least, often ousted from a colony or deported by a paranoid government. This has only helped to sharpen the Zheday�Than�s already superb stealth skills.
