--- Physical Description ---

The Gylam are a race of rock people. The average Gylam stands between 6 to 9 feet tall and weighs on average ~1500 lbs. They have been part of the interstellar community for some time, and have been considerably active in political affairs across the galaxy. The Gylam have an alternate agenda for their active role, though. It is a known fact that the Gylam absolutely revile what they consider to be soft and weak. What most people do not know, is that this extends to every facet of life. The Gylam think squishy carbon based life forms are physically revolting and should be destroyed. But they are not stupid. They understand that for the meantime they are considerably outnumbered and would not survive a direct conflict. Therefore, they repress their immediate hatred to politically manipulate their enemies, pitting them against each other and waiting for their own proper time to strike.

--- History ---

The Gylam evolved from basic silicoid life forms on their home planet, where there is little oxygen in the atmosphere, or carbon for plants to make said oxygen. The biodiversity on their world is unusually small, and thusly not many different species exist on their world. The Gylam, as a race, have remained relatively stagnant and isolated for a considerable amount of time. This isolation has bred a strong conservative paradigm, and traditions have become considerably important in their culture. They dislike interaction with other species because quite often, the actions of the disreputable foreigners has disrupted the Gylam traditions of proper etiquette. The gylam also have an inherent fear that these disgusting squishy races have some sort of agenda to destroy the long standing Gylam customs, and some extremist groups have taken it a step further, forming tradition preservation groups and terrorist factions to disrupt the schemes of the invaders.
