--- Physical Description ---

The Dahoxace are a race of industrially focused individuals, resembling large iridescent Cockroaches. They have something akin to a hive mentality, but without a centralized figurehead. Their government was originally a democracy, but as the population grew(as they were, of course, multiplying like cockroaches) this became inconvenient, and a republic was formed in its place. The predecessors to the Dahoxace evolved the ability to feed off of the natural solar, geothermal, and nuclear radiation in their environment with some form of non-light based photosynthesis. This form of energy consumption could be augmented with the physical consumption of certain radioactive materials. For this adaptation, the Dahoxace evolved a strong mandible, capable of crushing radioactive rocks or bending metals into swallowable pieces. They find certain radioactive minerals and elements to be delicacies which are some of the few things they will trade for with outsiders.

--- History ---

The history of their world is not well known, nor how far back its history extends. What is known is that the Dahoxace are the only living species on their planet. There is a fossil record, as well as a few scattered hints that there once was a pre-Dahoxace society living on that world. What is guessed is that the Dahoxace homeworld once did have a non-dahoxace civilization upon it, whether it was a long lost colony of the elder races or perhaps something indigenous. It is believed that this civilization grew to prominence and flourished, but through some sort of conflict eradicated itself, along with most other life on the planet. Very few organisms survived the nuclear holocaust, but the native cockroaches were one of them. With the ecological niches of almost every other living thing on the planet suddenly vacated, the surviving insects flourished, evolving mechanisms to survive in their scourged world. They evolved to sentience on their burning home world, carrying their multiplicitive insect mentality into their culture. The majority of their society is based around production. Production of young, production of materials, it matters not. They do have some semblance of economy, but it does not receive near the amount of attention as Industry itself receives.

They are almost the stereotypical sci-fi bug in that they are relatively self centered, caring almost entirely for their own expansion, and considerably hostile towards things that hinder or prevent that. On the other hand, their extreme focus on industry has allowed them to develop many enhanced forms of production which are envied by other alien races. This is one of the few things that has prompted them to begin trading with other alien species. They trade industrial good or labor normally for raw materials in various forms(especially radioactive materials)
