Nexus - Sixth Season
Despite the fact that the sixth season was the shortest in the campaign,
the series continued to produce good episodes. This was despite serious
GM/player conflicts over how powerful the characters should be. The season
started with what had been planned as the fifth season finale, and it ended
with a divergent timeline series. All in all, I will plan to have a longer
than normal 7th season to make up for the shortness of the sixth.

79. Universal Chaos, Part 1 (RC, KD)
The team responds to a distress signal sent from a planet in the Null Zone via the planet Mistwood. The signal tells of a demonic plot to destroy the universe by the capture of the planets unicorns and pegasi, which are in fact the Precursors, who have forsaken most of their god-like powers and taken on these fantasy-like forms. This episode took plot elements from the movie Legend.

84. Mephistopheles Triumphant (KD, EJ, SR)
The group is plagued by nightmares in which they see the destruction of Nexus at the hands of Mephistopheles. A couple of days later, they are visited by Eurostar, who offers to join up with them because Mentalla has received the same dream and has discerned that PSI is behind at least part of it. The team heads to Minar and during the journey they have a few problems with the prototype Psiborg craft, which has been taken over by an evil magi named Simon. After making a brief stop at Minar, the team heads to the Mephistopheles Nebula.
Once there, they discover that the energies of a White Crystal are being channeled to make an opening in the nebula which would allow Mephistopheles to escape. They also discover that the ship being used to channel this energy was attacked by PSI, who then fought a bloody battle with the Enforcers. In the midst of this hijacking, the crew were assaulted, raped, and murdered. The group tracks down another ship which had been in the area. This leads them to a nearby asteroid, where they confront PSI. The confrontation is very short, thanks to Psychouts main weapon. The group was severely enjured.
Meanwhile, Psiborg had been following the party, and had managed to gain control of Simon, who had recovered the White Crystal from the battle site and intended to finish opening the hole in the nebula. Simon managed to shake Psiborgs control over him long enough to steal the crystal and flee. The group pursues Simon and captures him and the crystal. They then attempt to close the hole, but due to a couple of failed attempts to get the crystal into the holder, and the amount of time that had already passed, Mephistopheles escapes.

85A. Poltergeist (SR)
While the Galaxy Rangers are on a mission, a malevolent spirit attempts to kidnap Stephanie Foxx. When this attempt is foiled by none other than Mephistopheles, the poltergeist begins to monitor the family. It solves the problem of its own demise by switching places with its duplicate self in the regular universe.

85B. Firefight (KD, SR)
The group is joined by a group called the Dancers, and together they confront Arostagarus and the Warlords on a backwater planet. In the ensuing battle, the team discovers that their powers are not working as expected; energy bolts are misfiring, and the strength of the groups weapons is not as strong as it should beor it is too strong..
As the battle continues, the Galaxy Rangers are all killed by the Warlords. As the last Galaxy Ranger falls, the group (minus their dead comrades) finds themselves facing Beth, who informs them about the divergent timeline and how to correct the error. The group then goes back in time to the events of Episode 84 and prevents Mephistopheles from escaping his nebula prison.
