Professional Spring Football League Icons (v1) by Daniel M. Smith (dsmith4@bayou.uh.edu)

Welcome to my icon set for the Professional Spring Football League. All of
these icons were drawn by me and me alone, though I owe thanks to many people
who helped me compile the info (see below).

For those of you unfamiliar with the league, here is a little background:

The PSFL was founded by Vincent Sette, who was to be the league president.
Play was set to begin on Feb 29, 1992, but the league folded 10 days from
the season opener. If you want more info on the PSFL, visit the league on
the web at (and tell Tim I said HI!):

Here is a list of the files that you should now have, and a brief description
of each:

psfl.txt - You are reading it.
aces.ico - Nevada Aces. An 'A' with 4 aces sticking out the side.
blitz.ico - New England Blitz. A firing canon with the word 'BLITZ' on it.
cougars.ico - Carolina Cougars. 4 claws riping their way out of the helmet.
ltbolts.ico - Oregon Lightning Bolts. Lightning bolts flowing back from the
front of the helmet. Originally, this helmet had bolts similiar to
the ones in the teams primary logo, which arched from the front of the
helmet down. But this helmet turned out to look like a yellow version
of the Cougar helmet, so I used my imagination.
marauder.ico - Washington Marauders. A skull with a patch over one eyehole.
miners.ico - Arkansas Miners. A block 'M' with a diamond in front.
outlaws.ico - Tampa Bay Outlaws. Fancy 'TB' with a tiny outlaw head.
pioneers.ico - Utah Pioneers. A runaway wagon (actually a conestoga).
psfl.ico - Professional Spring Football League logo.
ratsnake.ico - New Mexico Rattlesnakes. A rattlesnake curled around a cactus.
tribe.ico - Miami Tribe. An Indian headdress.

And now a quick note on how these icons were created. They were drawn with
Windows Paintbrush and converted into icons using The Icon Librarian. Since
I wanted everyone to be able to use them, I only used 16 colors. This allows
everyone running early versions of Windows to put them on their desktop. This
is why orange helmets appear the way they do. I had to use a mix of red and
yellow. Not the greatest of results, but you get the idea. You are free to
use these icons on your computer, and to share them with friends, all I
ask is that you give me credit for having spent the many hours to create them.

If you are wondering about white facemasks and stripes, here is the deal. To
avoid having to come up with background colors for every icon, I've made all
white facemasks and white outer stripes light gray. This allows me to treat
them the same way I treat all other colors. I don't feel it takes too much
away from the helmets, but if you disagree, let me hear from you.

Along with the AFL, I also have icon sets available for the following leagues:

National Football League
United States Football League
Canadian Football League
World Football League
World League of American Football
Arena Football League
All-American Football Conference
American Football League
Professional Indoor Footbal League
College Divisions
Fantasy Leagues
Custom Helmets

Check out my web site at http://www.geocities.com/Colosseum/Bleachers/4595/
to see which of these are currently available.

Also, if you have any requests for helmets to be made into icons, just let me
know and I'll try to put it together for you.

I would like to say thanks to the following people for their help in putting
these icons together. I could never have done it without them!

Tim Capper who runs the PSFL homepage from which I got most of my info on the
	league.
John Meyer who has helped me not only with the PSFL, but with all leagues. I
ask him question after question after question and he never tires of
it. I owe him more thanks than I will ever be able to express!
John Fulgaro, publisher of the Sports Logo Guide. If you are interested in
logos at all, this is a must have resource.
Sorry if I have left anyone out!

Hope you enjoy my icons, and let me know what you think of them! I love to
get feedback on my work!
