My primary responsibility is capturing
education research video and audio data, with an emphasis on highest
attainable quality.
I also manage video data (from various
archive sources and formats), conceptualize, write, and edit video projects
for
incorporation in teacher
professional development tools, grant proposals, teleconferences, and satellite
uplinks.
I manage
the resources of the WCER Technical/Computer Services Multimedia Lab which
includes
assisting and training users
of the lab’s computer and A/V technology.
These responsibilities include troubleshooting hardware and software,
installing, patching,
updating, and upgrading hardware and software applications.
I
manage the video conferencing/multimedia facilities within WCER. This includes
video conference room scheduling, user training,
troubleshooting and updating Polycom video conferencing systems.
I acquire, edit, and process audio/video data for Internet, network server,
videotape, and CD-ROM/DVD distribution.
I compile educational workshops dealing with the all aspects of research
video acquisition, preparation, and presentation,
and regularly present
them to University faculty/staff.
I acquire, organize and process digital video, digital photographs and
graphic data for PowerPoint and similar
computer-generated presentations, as
needed.
I maintain responsibility for archival of acquired video data.
I videotape lectures and presentations, as needed.
I provide professional advice and assistance to users of the
I research and purchase video and audio equipment, and provide A/V hardware
and A/V editing and management software purchasing advice
to WCER research
project personnel.
