Magic
in the Night
By
Donna and Abs
When
the Summer Meeting ended and the mortals had all gone, Shannon and the Old One
disappeared in a shimmer of light. When
they reappeared, they were in a Faery Glen.
"How will he know where to go?" she asked.
"He knows many things, but how are you so sure he will know
this?"
The
Old One smiled. "Never fear,
Beloved. He will come."
After
the wedding earlier that evening, Gideon had returned to his cottage and was
dressed in his pajamas. He was waiting patiently for Shannon to show up,
studying the beautiful pictures in the Hiawatha book, reciting from memory the
poem she had read to him the night before.
“By the shores of Gitche Gumee, By the shining
Big-Sea-Water, Stood the wigwam of Nokomis, Daughter of the Moon, Nokomis. Dark
behind it rose the forest, Rose the black and gloomy pine-trees, Rose the firs
with cones upon them; Bright before it beat the water, Beat the clear and sunny
water, Beat the shining Big-Sea-Water.”
He
liked that verse so he repeated it several times. It was a long poem, and
Shannon was taking her time working her way through it, reading him one section
at a time and then talking to him about it. Gideon loved having poetry read to
him, and he could usually quote it back verbatim after hearing it. The words did
not always make sense to him, but he still enjoyed the rhythm of the way the
words went together.
Glancing
up, he saw a butterfly enter his open window. "Hello Vanessa," he said
with a happy smile. She fluttered close, kissing his cheek, and then told him,
in her tinkling voice, that he was to follow her if he wanted to see Shannon.
Gideon
laughed and rose to his feet, and then followed Vanessa out into the night. He
was barefoot, and the grass felt cool and nice as he walked. All sorts of
creatures from the forests soon joined them, and a strange sort of parade was
formed as they made their way to the glen where Shannon waited.
The
Old One was beside her, but he was deep in a trance, summoning all the powers of
that Holy Night to his command.
As
Gideon stepped into the glen, it was as if the air was suddenly filled with
thousands of sparkling little lights. Fascinated by all of what he saw about
them, Gideon approached his friends. Shannon was dressed in a beautiful,
translucent gown that shimmered with all the colors of the rainbow. As he drew
near, she held out her arms, inviting him into them.
He
was used to being kissed by the girls, so he went into her arms like nothing at
all unusual was happening.
"Trust
me, Gideon," she said softly and then wrapped her arms around him, the
long, filmy sleeves of her gown draping down his back. Then with much
tenderness, she pulled his head down to hers and kissed him. Not just a sisterly
peck, but a real kiss. At first, there was no response. She didn't expect there
to be. At least not yet. Beside them, the Old One raised his hands and the
floating flecks of light suddenly converged on the couple, forming a whirlwind
of almost eye blinding light around them.
Gideon
for a moment was frightened, but Shannon held him close to her, giving him a
feeling of security. As her kiss gradually deepened, a warm feeling seem to seep
up from the grass at his feet, working its way up his body. The growing ache in
his middle seemed to be almost too much to bear, but as the warmness continued
to fill him, the lights and the strange feelings in his body ceased to frighten
him.
As
the magic took final possession of Gideon, it was as if there was an explosion
in his head, and for a moment, he went limp against Shannon. But when he
recovered a moment later, he stood up straight, drowning in her beautiful eyes.
And then he leaned in, and for the first time, was a full participant in the
kiss.
Unseen
by the couple, The Old One sagged. It
had been draining. And it would not
last long. When he woke, Gideon
would be the same as he had always been. But
for now, he was as he should have been.
When
the couple came up for air, Shannon took his hand and led him to a place of soft
green leaves. Smiling, she sat in
this natural bed, and waited for him to join her.
Gideon
paused, looking around, a look of wonder on his face. It was as if he was seeing
everything for the first time. His gaze fell on Shannon and he smiled. "You
are so beautiful," he said, his heart overflowing with emotions. "I've
always known you were, but now... now I can really see you! I can see so many
things! It all makes sense now – all the things I could never understand
before." He knelt down beside her, reaching out to touch her hair, bringing
it to his face to smell its fragrance.
"Now
you can . . . appreciate my beauty as a man does,” she said softly. “Not as
a child who adored his mother may."
"I
think I understand," he said, his hand reaching out to touch her face
tenderly. "This is all so strange, but it feels right." His hand
drifted down, his fingers lightly running over her jaw line, her neck and
settling onto a breast. "So soft..."
"It
is the way of things, for there to be male and female.
Do you know why this is, Gideon?"
He
looked at her curiously. "So they can be a whole being when they are
together?" he asked.
"Yes,
but also to make more of their kind."
She kissed him again and said, "What do my kisses say to you now,
Gideon? What do you want to
do?"
"I
want to be with you," he said. "To touch you, to get to know all of
you." He glanced down. There was now a very obvious response to his
desires. "To be inside you and to make a baby with you, like the one
Katherine has growing inside of her."
She
smiled. "Do you know how that
is done, Gideon?"
"Not
really," he said with a grin. "But I'm sure I can figure it out."
He leaned in and kissed her once more. Things that had only confused him before now seemed to be in
sharp focus.
She
kissed him back, her hands coming around his neck to press his head closer to
her. He took this encouragement and
kissed her more deeply, finally using his tongue to explore the depths of her
mouth.
A
soft ripple of approval seemed to run through the glen, but as Gideon lowered
Shannon to the soft bed of greenery, a thick veil of willow branches lowered to
the ground around it, giving them privacy. But it wasn't dark inside of the
makeshift canopy surrounding their bed. Sparkles of light filled the space,
filling the area with a jewel-like glow.
She
smiled up at him, and slowly helped him out of his pajama top.
He waited until it was off, then carefully peeled her out of her
shimmering garments. “So beautiful,” he whispered as his hands reached out
to caress her body. He had seen her and the other girls unclothed before, but it
never caused him to respond like his body was now doing automatically.
His
pants were all that was left as they cuddled together, their bodies hot against
each other as he kissed her, first on the mouth, then on the neck, and then on
each of the soft globes of her breasts. While he explored her, her hands
explored his bottom. He had a nice
one. He wriggled against her touch,
and she finally pulled at the waistband of his pajama pants.
He
chuckled, and then helped her push them down. His manhood sprang free at last,
his hips ground instinctively against hers. "I want you," he said
softly, his lovely eyes glowing as brightly as the dancing lights around them.
"And
you shall have me. I am yours to do
with as you please, this night of all nights!"
"I
feel so strange," he gasped in a voice made even lower with his need. Her
legs opened for him, and his shaft slid over her folds as he moved, making her
moan softly. "Is this how we do it?"
She
slipped a dainty hand down their bodies, finding him easily and directing him
where he should go. "Just a
little push," she instructed. "Once
it is inside, your body will know what to do."
It
took a little maneuvering, and a few giggles on both of their parts until he was
positioned perfectly. "Ready?" he asked, his hips already pushing
forward so that his manhood stretched her entrance. When she told him she was,
he pushed as she told him, crying out with sheer joy as he entered her fully.
He
knew what to do, all right; as soon as he was inside he wanted to thrust.
It felt so good, he wanted more, and more. . .
And
from Shannon's cries of pleasure, so did she. When his release came, it filled
her not only physically, but echoing into her mind as well. Gideon collapsed on
top of her, breathing hard. When he was able to speak, he kissed her first, his
eyes filled with tears of joy. So
this was what it was like to be a true man! "Did we make a baby?" he
asked, a hopeful look on his face.
"A son," she said. "A very special son."
"Good,"
he whispered, kissing her gently. Then his eyes saddened. "This is not
going to last, is it? I will be going back to the way I was, won't I?"
"And
you will not know he is your child. But
you will be drawn to him, and he to you."
She kissed him back. "You
chose me for his mother. Do you
have a choice for a name?"
He
thought for a moment. "Glen," he said, burying his face in her hair.
"For this place. Maybe when I hear his name, I might be able to remember a
little piece of the jumbled puzzle that was in my head before this night."
He laid his head on her chest for a moment, weeping softly at the realization
that this new found mental clarity was not going to last.
She held him tight until he rose up, kissing her once more.
"I
don’t think I could ever find the words to thank you for this night, not just
for what we just did, but for once in my life to really *know* everything,” he
said, looking deep into her eyes. “But for now, lets make the most of this
night of magic."
She
smiled. "I am yours till the
dawn, Beloved."
"Then
I plan on making each moment as special as I possibly can," he told her.
“Even if I will not be able to remember it, you will. And that will be enough
for me.” His mouth found hers once more, his kisses full of both tenderness
and urgency at the same time.
As their bodies joined together once more, the faint sound of tinkling bells could be heard as Shannon's sisters gathered under the bright moonlight, dancing with joy as they celebrated the miracle that had just come to pass.
