Edan’s
Bountiful Blessings
By Donna and Abs
After the excitement caused by the rather
spectacular arrival of Endora's twins settled down, everyone sat down at the
tables laden with the bountiful fruits of Edan's first harvest. Even though it
was a very tough act to follow, Methos still managed to rise to the occasion.
"I don't know," he said slowly,
"if I could have chosen a better event to symbolize this time and
place." He waved his arm, encompassing the laden tables, and the even more
laden women. "Everything is
just bursting with ripeness. And even the things that have already
ripened," he stooped to pick up his son from Faia's arms, "are
wonderful. This truly is a fertile paradise!"
As he sat down, he looked across the
table at his friend Duncan, who was seated next to the lovely Sarah Jo. The
nurse was carrying the Highlander’s child inside of her, and pregnancy
definitely suited her. Duncan grinned back at him and winked. He was always
teasing Methos about his newfound fertility here on Edan. It seemed like
everyone the Old Man slept with ended up pregnant!
And that might have been so.
He had been the first into Edan, after all.
Methos grinned at the wink and then looked at Crystal. He also cast a
furtive glance at Lupe when he thought no one was looking.
Lupe was happily playing with her babies
as those around her filled up a plate for her. As his eye roamed the tables
further, he spotted Katherine, who was nursing her daughter, a blanket thrown
over her shoulder for modesty sake. She smiled back at him. If it were true,
that all women he slept with got pregnant, then the tiny girl under the blanket
was also his!
Unfortunately, he would never know for
sure. At least in that case. He looked around some more, chuckling as he saw Doc
Adams, one of his younger selves, slid in between the two women in his life.
If hair color was warmth, Doc certainly was well heated!
He wondered why that self was so attracted to redheads, then remembered
some titan-tressed beauties he had once known.
The memories made him smile, and he silently forgave Doc his passion.
He glanced over at the other doctors, who
strangely enough, all looked like him! Giles was doing his best to keep his
daughter from curiously buzzing over the table! He had attached a little harness
of sorts to her dress, so at least she couldn't fly too far away from him.
Well, he couldn't say the place was
ordinary. They were finally able to
have children and some of those children would be...different than mortal
children on Earth. But he sure wasn't going to complain - and he didn't think
Giles would, either. In fact, he
suspected he and Melissa would be having more buzzing bees soon!
Methos chuckled as he saw the now very
tanned and relaxed looking vet, Tom Kirby, steal a kiss from the equally tanned
wildlife biologist, Wyoming Davis. The two of them had just returned from Tom
Kirby's enforced vacation at cove, and they both looked fit and healthy. Methos
cocked his head, studying Wy for a moment. The woman was positively glowing, and
he couldn't help but wonder if the two of them knew something that no one else
did yet.
He wouldn't have been surprised if they
were going to add to the population as well!
He already knew there would be an addition to the army - at least if you counted the offspring of the soldiers -
since Larina and Dan Hagman (they had apparently eloped on Halloween) were also
expecting!
The thought of marriage made him smile
again, thinking about all the weddings that had taken place and the ones planned
for the near future. Even two of the priests had found women that they wanted to
spend the rest of their lives with! He turned and glanced at the table where
most of the clergy was seated. Father Philip was teasing his beautiful bride
about something. She was pregnant with twins as a result of him trying to cool
off in Endora's fountain! Thinking of Endora made him laugh out loud. If what
she said was true, that vixen Amanda was now a walking time bomb!
Next time she and Lancelot made love,
she'd be caught! Then again, Duncan had said once that she was maternally
deprived - and one had only to look at the way she acted around that horrendous
Kenny to see that he was right!
He looked at the other couple who had
*caught* one of Endora's twins. Another Irish priest no less! The woman, Monica,
he had seen around, but he didn't know too much about her yet. She wasn't fae,
he knew that. And she wasn't Immortal. But there was something different about
her and Joe's new singer, Tess, that he couldn't put his finger on just yet.
Liam was Immortal, but he did not
personally know him well; although he was a friend of Amanda's, the Amanda they
had in town was from the past, and she did not seem to remember him. From the short conversations Methos had had with him, he was
very non-violent and devout. At the
same time, he was not overly critical of the married clergy, so perhaps there
was a chance there!
In fact, the only one that had been
against allowing priests to marry had been the first to be tripped up! Looking
over at Herrara and Hydra, he could see from the way they looked at each other
they where deeply in love.
Her middle was expanding at a greatly
increased rate, but of course, Methos understood why!
With women having shorter pregnancies (at least the fae ones), the place
was going to be populated *very* quickly!
