4. Creativity: I *CANNOT* stress this one enough! Be creative people! Don't stick to the same plots! I mean, most fan fictions I've read are "girl band goes on tour with DS and they fall in love". It's getting boring people! Be creative! Think of something else! And for God's sake, it's OK to write a genre OTHER than romance! There are two fan fictions on fanfiction.net that I have to give credit to. They're called "Friends, Enemies and Strangers" and "Kidnapped". The author of these stories, who I have talked to a few times, agrees with me about a lot of the things stated earlier. This story is well written and it's creative! It's not a romance story. It's exciting and I harass her constantly for more! I am telling you guys, you have to check it out!

5. Rising Action: I'm sure that all of you have heard this term before in school! The rising action is what leads to the climax of a story. Don't have the exposition, rising action, conflict and resolution all in one page then have the characters making out for the rest of the story. You should create suspense! Torture the reader by making them have to read more and more till they find out what happens! Don't write it all in a page. Make it interesting for them! I can tell you myself, I *love* having it dragged out. It keeps me interested and it keeps me reading! When things move too fast, the readers attention is sometimes lost. I again recomment those two fan fictions that I talked about in #4. If you ask the writer, I harass her daily for more.

6. Grab The Readers Attention: To get people to read your fan fiction, you must grab their attention early on into the story. You have to trick them, in a way, to get them to read more. If the first part of the story is boring, people won't read the rest. You have to grab the readers attention, but then the hard part is KEEPING it! Make it interesting. Ask the dramatic question (Term from English. The dramatic question is the one that drags through the story. The one question you want to know the answer too. For example, the question could be: Will true love bring them together? or Will they ever know the truth about so-and-so.)

7. The Protagonist and the Antagonist: All stories should have both a protagonist or an antagonist. The antagonist could be anyone from the jealous girlfriend to the parent that stands in the protagonists way. These two types of characters help identify the conflict. Like: girlfriend vs. ex-girlfriend. It's pretty obvious what the conflict in that would be.

8. Descriptions: Descriptions are always good. Put in details that can help the reader visualize the setting and the characters. Make them SEE it in their minds. But don't overdo it. Do not start talking about, for example, the make up, for the whole time. Just describe it so the person can visualize it. Don't start talking in detail about how she placed lipstick on, just tell the reader what color it was, and maybe if it helped her complexion or something. Don't overdo descriptions. Give the reader enough to be able to visualize the setting and characters, but don't overdo it so that they get bored.

9. Scripts: Don't do it in script form people, use the proper method. If you want to write scripts, become a play writer, this is fan fiction, not the theater! For example:

Sarah (whispering): I love you.
Jesse: I love you too. He leans in and kisses her.
Sarah: looks up and smiles happily.

"I love you," Sarah whispers to Jesse.
"I love you too," he replies, leaning in and kissing her.
Sarah looks up at him and smiles.

Y'all better see a difference there! I mean, it might just be me, but the second one is alot easier to follow. By the way, that is not a real fan fiction as far as I know.

10. Summaries: Okay guys, no offence to anyone, but if I read a summary that says: "Read my story! It's the best!!!", I don't really want to read it. I mean, shouldn't we be the ones to decide if it's good or bad. No offence people, but it sounds really conceited. Just state a teaser, for example, for Jurassic Park, we'd put something like:  A plane crash on an island full of dinosaurs. No way to call for help, no equitment...who will survive?
It doesn't give away the plot, yet it tells something about the story that will attract the readers attention.
