EXTRACTING THE EMERGENCY SHUTDOWN FILES
It is recommended to extract all of the files to the "C:\" root folder
of the Server. Then move the .LNK to the Desktop of the All Users folder.

WHAT THE EMERGENCY SHUTDOWN FILES DO
The emergency shutdown files are intended to provide a Server Administrators
a quick and easy way to shutdown one or All Servers in a given
Windows NT Domain, while also providing the domain users notification
of a pending shutdown. This will also allow the Server Administrator
to have a less knowledgeable person perform the shutdown in cases of
an emergency.

USEING THE EMERGENCY SHUTDOWN FILES
These .CMD files are dependant on the use of the file SHUTDOWN.EXE that
is a part of the Windows NT 4 resource kit.

LOCAL_EMERGENCY.CMD and LOCAL_ABORT_EMERGENCY.CMD
Using a text editor like DOS Edit or Windows Notepad. Edit
LOCAL_EMERGENCY.CMD line 24. Change MYDOMAIN.COM with the name of your
domain. Edit LOCAL_ABORT_EMERGENCY.CMD line 3. Change MYDOMAIN.COM
with the name of your domain.

Note: The /T:180 indicated the time in seconds that the
shutdown will pause before actually starting the shutdown
process. It is recommended that if you change this time
that you also change line 24 to indicate the appropriate
                 time.

ALL_EMERGENCY.CMD and ABORT_ALL_AMERGENCY.CMD
Using a text editor like DOS Edit or Windows Notepad. Edit
ALL_EMERGENCY.CMD line 24. Change MYDOMAIN.COM with the name of your domain.
Edit the Lines 29 and up (\\MYSERVER1, \\MYSERVER2, Etc.) with the name of
the Servers to be shutdown.

Note: do not include the name of the Server on which the
command is being executed. Line 27 takes care of the
Local Server. If you have more Servers than the lines
listed simply copy and past to the end of the file before
the CLS command and insert the proper server name.

Using a text editor like DOS Edit or Windows Notepad. Edit
ABORT_ALL_EMERGENCY.CMD line 4. Change MYDOMAIN.COM with the name of your
domain. Edit the Lines 10 and up (\\MYSERVER1, \\MYSERVER2, Etc.) with the
name of the Servers to be shutdown.

Note: do not include the name of the Server on which the
command is being executed. Line 27 takes care of the
Local Server. If you have more Servers than the lines
listed simply copy and past to the end of the file before
the EXIT command and insert the proper server name.

Note: The /T:180 indicated the time in seconds that the
shutdown will pause before actually starting the shutdown
process. It is recommended that if you change this time
that you also change line 24 to indicate the appropriate
                 time.
