Brian left
Anna wordlessly. This was not the ending he had hoped. Everything was so close
to falling in place. Now nothing would ever happen. He knew Anna meant what she
just said. There was no turning back.
Tears started
to roll down his cheeks. One by one, till they all ran together like a
waterfall. Without realizing it Brian was now at his car and unlocking the
door. Everything felt like a dream. Anna was supposed to be in his arms, not
him crying his eyes out all alone. The pain in his heart was almost unbearable.
With no warning Brian fell to his knees. His soul was so weak it was hard to do
anything besides cry.
You’ve don it now
My heart it torn.
I almost think beyond repair.
I guess I expected,
a little too much.
It serves me right
for praying for a happy ending.
“Brian! I’m
sorry!” Anna screamed that night after work. As soon as she closed her office
door, she realized her mistake. But her pride wouldn’t let her chase after and
fall tiredly in his warm embrace. “Those sappy romantic stories aren’t for me.
Romance was never meant for me. Brian leaves me at a phone call. Who am I to think
won’t this time! To make matters worse I was happily in love, yet nature had to
take things in its own hands.”
Tears started
to cloud Anna’s eyes as she sought her way towards the couch. He legs wouldn’t
be able to support her once the tears started. Memories flowed through her
mind. Non were of Brian. They were all of Logan. He fiancee that was killed in
a car crash one week before their wedding.
Anna’s
shoulders shook with vigor as tears dropped rapidly down the well known cheeks.
Crying seemed almost like a daily routine. Subconsciencly Anna’s body fell
asleep in the awkward position she was curled in. Fatigue and sorrow had
captured her body, at least for now.
