“What are you
doing here?” Anna shouted as she walked into her office that morning. It had
been close to a month since Brian and her had talked. Which the last time they
had talked was the last argument in her office.
“I just
thought I’d drop by.” Brian casually said as he stayed seated.
“What if I
don’t want you to drop by?” Anna sneered as she laid her bag down on her desk.
“Anna! Call on
line one!” Sara yelled poking her head in Anna’s office. “Oh, sorry. Didn’t
know you had a visitor. But, it’s urgent.”
“Sure thing. I
got it.” Anna said as she answered the blinking light. She talked quietly,
paying Brian no attention. He walked over to her and wrapped his arms around
her waist. Anna didn’t notice till she got thought with the phone call. Brian
leaned in and was about to kiss Anna on the cheek when she yanked away. Quickly
she turned to face him, with horror shown all over her face.
“What do you
think you’re doing?” Anna screamed.
Brian remained
silent.
“You have a
girlfriend and you don’t even really know me anymore. What are you trying to
pull?”
“Anne, me and
Lieghanne broke up. It was a mutual thing. We had been drifting apart for
awhile now.” Brian explained.
“You and your
only love?! How could this happen?” Anna cried in mock horror clutching her
hands against her chest. “Whatever are you going to do?”
“Anne! Anna!”
Brian yelled over Anna as she continued to show her grief. “Listen to me!”
Brian demanded once he had her pinned to the wall of her office.
She stayed
silent as he breath returned. She hd no clue what to do. All those years Brian
had been out of her life, she had tried to forget what moments like this felt
like. Brian seemed to not to want her to forget.
“What do you
want from me?” She sighed slowly as a tear rolled down her cheek.
“I want you to
love me. Love me like you used to.”
Anna saw that
Brian’s eyes weren’t lying. He never could lie. “Thing change. Hearts change. I
can’t love again.”
“Why not?”
“My fiancé
just died and you left me standing in the hallway, alone! You left me! You
thing I want that to happen again?”
“No. But could
you please find it in your heart to give me a second chance?”
“I guess. But
don’t expect very much.” Anna stated bluntly.
