Chapter 2:
“Brian! Did
you find that phone number for me?” Howie asked as Brian and Lieghanne joined
them in the interview room.
“No, sorry. I
kind of got side tracked.” Brian apologized.
“It’s okay.
Just call me later today and give it to me.”
“Sure thing.”
Brian sighed in relief. He was glad Howie was in a good mood.
“So does
anyone know how long this interview should take?” Nick pipped up.
“No clue. It
doesn’t matter because we have nothing else the rest of the day.” Kevin stated
clearly.
“That’s the
point! Free time!” Nick whined to express his opinion.
“Shut up,
Nick!” AJ growled from his chair. “I didn’t get enough sleep last night.”
“Why didn’t
you? What were you doing last night?” Nick pestered.
Chaos broke
out in the room by Nick’s question. Kevin was yelling at Nick for being nosey,
Howie was laughing, Brian just sat and watched, while AJ made sure the truth
was known which was nothing close to what Nick was thinking. Order didn’t
return to the room, till it was tome to start in interview.
“Hey guys. My
name is Anna Cothryn and I’ll be asking you so many questions you’ll be ready
to scream.” The woman smiled as she took a seat in front of all five of the
guys.
“I think Nick
already started them.” Howie laughed. He received a sharp elbow in the ribs.
Brian sat and
starred at Anna. Could it really be his Anna from high school? She was still so
beautiful, just like an angel. She still looked like she was barely shorter
then himself. Her hair was still light blonde with the purest blue eyes
challenging the world head on.
Sleepless nights
a flash from the past
“There he is!”
Anna screamed to herself. My goodness, still the cute guy she starred at every
day in class. Even the little cowlick on the right side of his forehead was
there. She remembered how she used to curl in through her fingers on those
sleepless nights.
“Anna?” Brian
questioned.
“Please, Mr.
Littrell, hold all questions for now.” Anna coldly said and turned to smile at
everyone else. Anna silently chided herself for taking this interview. It was
going to be harder then she thought. But she had to see him again, it had been
so long. At times it still didn’t seem long enough to heal the wound that
scarred her heart.
Memories raced
through Anna’s head, yet she tried to calm them. They didn’t want to leave. But
they had to. It wasn’t an option. Clearing her throat, she focused her
attention on the present, not the torn past.
“Anna! Don’t
you remember me?” Brian tried again.
“Mr. Littrell
please. I have no clue what you’re talking about. Whoever this Anna girl you’re
talking about has probably moved on and forgotten everything.” Anna growled
making it clear she wanted nothing to do with him.
“What is wrong
with you. Cut Miss Cothryn a break. It isn’t like you know her or anything. Am
I right?” AJ asked.
“Perfectly!”
Anna smiled. “Now lets get down to business. I know you guys don’t want to sit
around a studio for yet another day. You must be as sick of it as I am.”
“Got that
right!” Nick grumbled slouching down in his chair. He could tell the was going
to be a long day.
Those sleepless nights
they’ve come to haunt you
so beware
They’re coming back
Brian starred
at the one time love of his life. Except she wasn’t the same. At least not
towards him. A wall had been built up between them. A wall that had never been
there till now.
He listened to
her voice bounce around with energy. It still had the lightness that he had
fallen asleep listening to on those sleepless night.
He felt
Lieghanne eyes search him with worry. His mind angered at the thought. This was
non of her business. Non of this was, his past life is of no concern. She might
as well not ask any questions. Not even try. He wouldn’t give anything away.
The sleepless fire is back.
It’ll eat you up from inside before you know it
so look out
don’t give in
The temptation is high
those memories flow
bottle them up tight
or a secret may be found
