Chapter 9

As everyone was packing up and getting ready to head the to the busses for an overnight drive, Aaron found Lyssa behind a door watching Jocelyn and Nick.  "What are you doing?" he asked.

"Shhh!" she turned to him.  "I'm trying to figure out if my sister and your brother are together. So far I think they are, but all I've got is that they have been holding hands."

"Well, they have been acting strange around each other,"  Aaron whispered.  "I mean, they have been trying to spend every...."  And he trailed off.

"What?" Lyssa asked looking at his shocked face.  All Aaron could do was point  She turned her head around.

Nick and Jocelyn were caught up in a deep kiss.

"Well, I guess that gives us our answer," Aaron said.

Lyssa smiled.  "I think it's cute."

Aaron just gave her hand a squeeze and changed the subject fast.  "Before they break this kiss and we get caught, I just wanted to tell you to meet me on my bus before we head out; I have to talk to you."  Lyssa nodded as he gave her a kiss on the cheek and walked away.

Lyssa walked into Aaron's bus and found him on the couch in the living room section.  "What's up?" she asked him.

"Well," he started.  "It's nothing serious really.  But I just have a question for you and I want a straight answer."  He watched her face go from happy and smiling to confusion and worry.  "Do you have any feelings for Jesse?  What I mean is do you want to leave me for him?"

She let out a huge sigh of relief. "No!!  Why would I want to do something like?"

He looked toward the ground.  "I just saw the way you guys wee looking at each other and I thought that maybe you thought he was better than I was..."  Aaron trailed of.

"Aaron I don't even know him!  We barely got to say hi and-" He cut her off with a sweet kiss.  After they broke away, she put her head oh his shoulder and he stroked her hair.

"I've dreamt of you for too long. Why would I leave you now?"

The following night.....

It had been six weeks to the day that Lyssa had been signed and started touring. On their last two day break, while they were in Florida, Nick was able to get her into the studio to at least record "Set Me Free" so it could give her airplay on the radio.  Luckily for her, while she was in the studio, she was able to knock out not only "Set Me Free," but two other songs that were set to be on her debut album.  That night before her performance, Nick told her that when they take their next break in Chicago, Lyssa was going to do her video for "Set Me Free."  She was so excited that she decided that before she closed out her segment for this concert with "Set me Free," she would tell them.

"Alright guys, I've got great news for you!!"  The audience cheered at the fact that their new idol was sharing something with them. "Within the next two weeks, you guys should be seeing my video for 'Set Me Free' on MTV!!"  She paused and smiled at Nick and Jocelyn who were in the front row protected by at least 10 body guards.  The smiled back at her in approval. "And it's up to you guys to get it on TRL!"

The stadium rocked with the thunderous applause and screams.  Lyssa knew that they heard something that they wanted to hear.  She couldn't wait to see the response when it came out if this was just telling them that they had a video to look forward to.

"One more thing before I wrap up my part of the show; I just want to thank Nick Carter and my sister Jocelyn for everything they have done for me in the past month and half.  I couldn't have made it this far without them.  And one big congratulations to my sister and Nick; they are dating and I couldn't be happier for them!"

Lyssa looked down to Nick and Jocelyn and saw that the looks on their faces weren't exactly great.  They were shocked and confused. Jocelyn wondered how she found out.  Nick was worried about what was going to happen to them right now.  He knew that Jocelyn didn't know what it was like to have  a public relationship with someone like himself.  They hadn't been planning to tell anyone, not even Lyssa and Aaron, quite yet.  And now it was open to the world.

The next thing Jocelyn and Nick knew was that they were being charged by the first five rows of fans all around them with the only thing protecting them being the bodyguards.  They were trapped between them and the stage with no way out.
