Chapter 1
By Nichole
"Jocy!!
Hurry up! We have to leave now!" Lyssa screamed up the
stairs to her older sister.
"We have
five hours before the concert starts! You aren't going to miss
anything," Jocelyn yelled back to her.
Lyssa just
sighed heavily and plopped onto the couch in the living room. Jocelyn was
taking her to see Aaron Carter for her 14th birthday. It was the best
birthday present she had ever gotten. They were front row, center seats
and Lyssa had no idea how her sister had obtained them. The two weeks
since she had gotten the tickets had gone by slower than she could have
imagined. And the biggest rumor spreading among her friends was the fact
that Nick, Aaron's older brother, was supposed to be there. "Happy
birthday to me!" she thought excitedly.
About 20 minutes
later, Jocelyn came downstairs. "Can we leave now?" Lyssa asked
eagerly.
"I'll
make you a deal; you don't bother me for the next half hour, and then we'll
leave and even sit outside of Aaron's tourbus. Deal?"
Lyssa jumped
up and down in excitement. "It's a deal," she squealed.
So for the
next half hour, while Jocelyn was finishing up some things, Lyssa decided to
walk their dog, Buster, and then go online to rant and rave about the fact that
she was going to see Aaron Carter. She was in the middle of talking to
her best friend when Jocelyn came in and said those magic words.
"You ready?"
"Am
I ready? Do you have to ask? I've been ready for the last two
weeks!" She exclaimed.
So the sisters
gathered their things and headed out the door to Jocelyn's Subaru Legacy.
After she buckled herself in, Lyssa pulled out Aaron's latest CD, Oh
Aaron, and put it in the CD player. "You are going to have to
learn the words you know," she said to Jocelyn.
Jocelyn just rolled
her eyes and smiled. She pulled out of the driveway and started for the
arena. She knew most of the words unbeknownst to her little sister and
that was because Lyssa was always listening to Aaron.
For the
duration of the 45 minute drive, Lyssa shifted between her Aaron CDs and her
Backstreet Boys CDs. Even though she worshiped Aaron, she loved to listen
to them as well. If Nick was going to be there, Lyssa figured that that
Jocelyn should learn those words too. What Lyssa also did not know was
that Jocelyn loved the Backstreet Boys and thought that Nick was very sexy.
She never told Lyssa due to the fact that she would never hear the end of
it.
When they
finally reached the arena, they looked around to discover that they were quite
possibly the first ones there. "I told you we shouldn't have
left this early," Jocelyn said in an I-told-you-so voice.
"But here we are and Happy
Birthday!"
"You're
the best!" Lyssa said as she was finishing up the touches on her Aaron
outfit. She had taken all the pictures she could find of him and turned them
into an outfit. She had also written 'I love Aaron Carter' all over her
face.
"I know.
Aren't you going a little over the edge here?"
"No way!
I want him to notice me! Now let's go find his tour bus!"
Lyssa grabbed Jocelyn by the hand and started running toward the arena.
Jocelyn
stopped herself and her sister. "Hold on a minute here. If you
want to meet him or get close to his tour bus, you have to act calm and mature
about this."
"You're
right. They won't let me in unless I look sane." So Lyssa
started to walk as mature as she could and Jocelyn couldn't help but smile.
They
spotted the tour bus and made their way over to it. Lyssa walked over by
the door of the bus and sat down hoping that Aaron would come out.
Jocelyn uncomfortably sat down next to her sister. Here she was, 22
years old and sitting outside a 14 year-old pop star's tourbus.
It
wasn't long before one of Aaron's body guards approached them. "Ladies,
I'm sorry, but you can't stay here. You're more than welcome to go inside
the arena though."
"Thank
you sir," Jocelyn said politely. "Let's go Lyssa."
"Now what
are we gonna do?" Lyssa whined as they walked away.
"Why
don't we just go in like the guard said? Maybe Aaron will come out if he
sees that we're the only ones out there."
"Maybe,"
Lyssa smiled.
They went in
and gave the ticket-taker their tickets. Lyssa made sure hers didn't get
bent at all because she planned on framing this one. The sisters walked past
all the vendors. Jocelyn let Lyssa pick out one t-shirt and one poster
for her already huge collection.
Finally, Lyssa
had what she wanted and they went down to find their seats. The seats
were literally against the stage and as center as they could get.
"Jocy, I don't know how you got these tickets!! These are the
best seats in the house!"
"I
have my ways," She smiled mischievously.
I really,
really hope that he comes out," Lyssa sighed. She looked toward the
stage and imagined him singing. So she started singing herself.
"Aaron. Oh Aaron. What are we going to do with you?
You make all these promises, oh so big,
How will you make them come true?"
"Hey! That's not too bad," a voice interrupted Lyssa's singing.
Both the girls
spun around to see Nick Carter himself approaching them.
