Chapter 3

As Krista's car pulled up to the quaint house of their picture perfect neighborhood, Angela snapped
out of her blast to the past.  "Here I am.  21 and still wishing that we'd be back together someday.
He'll never find me out here. I might as well just give up."  But in her heart she knew that she couldn't
take off her fire pendant and give up hope.

"What's wrong Angela?" Krista asked.

"Nothing," she muttered.

"Oh, now I know that something is up," she said.  She gave Angela that face that pleaded with her to
tell her what was wrong that combined with she knew something was wrong and Angela couldn't BS her
 way through it.

"Alright already," Angela laughed.  She knew that once Krista gave her that look, she was through.

"Let's just get my stuff into the house and get me somewhat settled first.  Then we can talk."

So for the next few hours, they unpacked her things from the car and settled her into her room.  The
room was a little bit smaller than the one she had at home, but she knew she could make it work.  The
closet was a decent size and held all her clothes.  "The posters will have to go up another day," she
 thought.

The 2 girls shared a bathroom, but they knew that it wouldn't be a problem.  Krista, was the
bathroom hog.  She took the long showers, blew-dry her hair, and things of that nature.  Angela, on the
other hand, got in and got out.  She hated the all-made-up look, and got dressed up when she absolutely
had to.  Krista would wear skirts and dresses for fun.  Angela didn't think that appearance was
everything, and neither did Krista, but she loved to make herself look good anyway.  So they knew that
 living together would definitely work.

"Let's get down to business," Krista said, once they were finished.

"Before we do, I just have to say that you were wrong before about Brian and not knowing where he
is.  He told me he was moving to Orlando and here we are!!"
"You have a point there, but who's to say that he's still here??  Anyway, don't change the subject."
"Hold on, " Angela said.  "I haven't eaten since breakfast and I'm hungry.  Let me get some food
 first."

"Alright," Krista said reluctantly.

Angela went into the kitchen and threw a bag of popcorn into the microwave.  She knew that she
wanted to talk more about Brian to Krista, but also knew that Krista hated hearing about him.

The microwave beeped and she poured the popcorn into a bowl.  She then took it into the living room
 and plopped onto the couch.

"Alright," Krista said.  "Let's talk."

Angela just sat there and didn't say anything.  She wasn't sure if she wanted to talk to her about him
 anymore.

"Oh come on!" Krista begged.  "You know you can talk to me about anything."

"I know," Angela said.  "But I'm sure that you don't want to hear anymore about Brian right now."

Krista rolled her eyes, but said, "I'll listen."

"You didn't seem so thrilled just a few minutes ago."

"That's only because it's been so long and I don't want to see you hurt anymore.  I understand he
meant so much to you, but I really think it's time for you to move on."

"We had something that you just don't understand Krista.  It was something so special and
indescribable.  It was like a romance out of a fairy tale.  You have no idea how much it hurt when I had
to say good-bye to him that night.  I was so in love with him, but I knew that it was the right thing at
that time.  I wouldn't have been able to only hear his voice on the phone and not having him there just to
hold me.  And then, I had to spend my senior year alone and go to the prom with someone that I only
wished was him.  It all hurt so much and it was so long ago, and yet I can't give up hope on finding him,"
 Angela poured out.

"So you're telling me that you still have the same feelings for this guy as you did five years ago?
And you're telling me that you're going to wait for him for the rest of you're life?" Krista asked.

"I don't know!  But I just can't help it and I can't take this off," she said picking up her pendant.

"Plus I'm afraid to get into another relationship because I don't want this to happen again," she
confessed as she felt the tears burning in her eyes.

"Oh Angela!!  Please don't cry!" Krista pleaded.  "I never meant to make you cry.  We can stop
talking about Brian.  I only wanted to help you.  I have one last question though.  Do you really think
that guy in the green car was him?"

"Maybe," she replied.  "It's the eyes.  Only Brian had eyes like that. Remember?"

"Don't you get all sappy on me!  But, yes.  I do remember."

"Well, only time will tell," Angela said.  "What a fairy tale ending that would be if it is him."

"Enough of this.  I think we should go out to dinner and a movie in celebration of us being on our own
together.  What do you say?" Krista decided.

"Sounds good to me," Angela said.  She wiped the tears from her eyes as she stood up and went to her
room to find something to change into.  "I'm gonna put this behind me for tonight and have a good time.

It's been a little while since Krista and I went out together," she said to herself.

She grabbed her purse after she was done changing and met up with Krista in the living room.  "Ready
 to go?"

"Yup," Krista replied.  With that, the girls went out the door to have a "girls' night out."
