Chapter 13

AJ walked out of his room and down the stairs to find Leah at the table eating breakfast. She looked up at him and then looked back into her cereal bowl. She told herself not to look at him. If she did she would get lost in his eyes and she couldn't forgive him, not for what he done to her. AJ walked over to the fridge and grabbed the milk carton. He poured some milk into a glass and sat down at the other end of the table.

"Im sorry Leah I didn't mean for all this to happen" AJ said as Leah rolled her eyes and stood up. She put her bowl into the sink and walked out of the kitchen

"Leah are you gonna be at the party tonight?" AJ asked before she turned to go to the stairs. Leah turned around and shrugged then walked up the stairs to her room. Aj shook his head and then walked into the front room to watch TV.

"Mel!!" Nick yelled as Mel grinned slightly turning off the water in the kitchen

"He deserved it" Mel thought as she heard the shower stop and Nick walking into there bedroom. She sat down on the couch and waited for Nick to come out of the bathroom. Mel heard foot steps coming to the stairs and then the sound of nick yelling.

"Are you coming up to change? Were gonna be late if you don't" Nick yelled as Mel put her head back on the couch.

" Yeah ill be there in a sec" Mel said as she got up and walked up the stairs. She walked to the room but stopped before entering and closed her eyes.

" Cover up anything you don't want me to see" She said as Nick laughed.

" It's already covered up for your info" Nick said as Mel opened one eye and looked at him. She made sure he wasn't kiddin around and opened the one and walked in. Nick put on his shirt and sat down looking at Mel. Mel looked back at him and pointed towards the door.

" What?" Nick asked.

" Go im tryin to change" Mel said

"fine i'll go" Nick said pouting and walking out the room. Mel laughed and started to get undressed. Nick watched as Mel started to get undressed. He watched ehr take off her top and walk over to her suitcase. Nick grinned as he opened teh door slowly trying to make as little noise as possible. He crept into teh room and walked up behind Mel. His arms wrapped around her waist and she jumped.

"holy shit Nick you scared me" Mel said catching her breath.

"i'm sorry i just couldn't help it"

"it's ok just don't do it again"

"i won't" Nick said smiling as he kissed Mel.

"mmm thats good do it again" Mel said when they broke apart Nick smiled and kissed Mel again this time with more passion. Nick led Mel to the Bed and laid down positiong himself next to her. He laid his hand on her back and up her neck and into her hair.

"Nick what about the party"

"we'll still make it" Nick said kissing down Mels neck. Nick sat up and pulled his shirt over his head. Mel pulled Nick back down on top of her and kissed him. Their tongues fighting furiously against eachother. Mel felt Nicks had at her pants and broke the kiss.

"ok cow boy if we don't stop now well never make it to Aj's party"

"but.." Mel silenced Nick with a kiss

"get out I gotta change"

"oh thats wrong so you just gonna leave me hanging"

"sorry baby butt i gotta"

"ok ok but make it snappy cause if I peek in here and your naked you can forget about Aj's party" Nick said grinning

"ohh is that a threat"

"take how you wanna baby" Nick said walking out the room. Mel smiled and finished undressing. She walked over to her suit case and took out her black skirt and a dark green top. She got dressed and walked out of the room surprised not seein Nick there waitin for her. She walked down the stairs and saw Nick sittin on the couch. Nick smiled at her as he got up and grabbed his keys from the table.

" ready?"

" yeah" Mel said as they walked out to Nick's car and got in driving off to aj's house.

They walked up to the front door and Nick looked at Mel.

" What?"

" Remember dont act like were together ok?"" Nick asked as Mel rolled her eyes.

" Nick im not stupid ya know" Mel said as she rolled her eyes.

" You sure about that?" Nick asked as Mel slapped him lightly on the arm.

" Hey! atleast im not a blonde Mister" Mel said as Nick laughed and rang the door bell. The door opened and they saw AJ standing there.

" Hey guys " AJ said as he moved out of the way for them to walk in. AJ closed the door behind them. Mel walkd over to Leah who was talking to Brian.

" Hey" Mel said walking up to them and Brian looked at her.

" What you doin here?" Brian asked as Mel laughed.

" I said the same thing to her yesterday" Leah said.

" Im gonna go say hi to every one else ill be back" Mel said as she made her way through the room and walked by the kicthen door when Nick pulled her in there with him. Mel smiled at him as Nick kissed her gently. Mel pulled away when she heard some one walkin down the hall. Kevin poked his head in and smiled.

" hey mel when'd u get back?" Kevin asked as he walked to the fridge and took out a beer.

" Two days ago" Mel said.

" Thats kool see you two around later" Kevin said as he walked out of the kicthen and Nick pulled Mel to him again and kissed her.

" FOOD!!" Aj shouted as Nick pulled away.

Mel sat across from Nick at the table and smiled at him. Nick smiled back and watched as Kevin brought the barbecue to the table and sat it down. Mel siped her soda but kept her eyes on Nick. She slipped off her shoes and grinned. Nick gave her a what are you thinking look. Mel shook her head adn went back to eating. She looked around the table. Leah and Aj were sseated so far away from eachother you would think one of them had cuties or something. Leah was talking to Howie and Brian and Nick were talking about a game they seen the other day. Aj was into a conversation with Kevin bout his sence of style. Mel grinned knowing that no one would notice what she was about to do.

"Brian I can beat you any day of the week"

"in your dreams Nicky"

"seriouly Bri, all those other times i just let you beat me"

"suuuuure what ever you say" Brian said laughing. Nick picked up his glass and took a sip when something ran up his leg. He jumped bumping his knee on the table.

"ouch damn" he cursed. Everyone looked at Nick.

"you ok?"Kevin asked

"yeah you ok Nick" Mel asked grinning

"yeah i'm fine" Nick said eyeing Mel who looked down at her plate. Mel waited for Nicka to start talking with Brian before she did it again. She started again at the hem of his pants and worked her way up. Nick didn't flinch he just looked at Mel then went back to talking to Brian. Mel went up further when she got to his crotch Nick jumped again.

"what is wrong with you?" Mel asked pretending she didn't kno what was wrong with him. Nick just shook his head. Mel went back to eating until she felt something on her leg. She looked at Nick and he smiled. Nick didn't stop he kept going. Mel jumped when Nick finally stoped.

"what is wrong with you two?"Leah asked

"nothing I just thought i felt something" Mel said. She glared at Nick who just grinned. Brian looked at Nick then at Mel. He noticed her now smiling at Nick and him smiling at her. Mel noticed Brian staring adn she looked at him.

"what?"

"nothing" Brian said giving her a look and smiled. Every one finished eating and talked for a while. Kevin looked at his watch and looked around at every one talking.

" If we dont want to be late for the display we better leave now" Kevin said as every one got up and headed to there cars. Aj looked at leah and she looked away walking with Brian over to Brian's car. AJ walked to his car and got in waitin for Howie and Kevin and Kristin. Everyone got loaded into the cars and drove off towards the display.

Everyone got of teh cars once they arrived at the beach. They beach was full of people waiting for the display to begin. Most of them were couples and some had kids with them.

"well catch up with you guys later" Kevin said taking Kristin hand and they walked off.

"yeah well catch you guys later" Brian said wrapping his arm around Leighannes waiste and walking away.

"come on Nick" Mel said taking Nicks hand and running down the beach. Leah stood there watching eveyone. She glanced at Aj then at Howie who seemed a little out of place.

"guys I think i'm gonna go look around or something" Howie said walking away.

"damn" Leah cursed under her breath

"huh? you say something?" Aj asked

"I wasn't talking to you" Leah snapped and walked away leaving Aj. Leah found a spot in between two couples and sat down. She wrapped her arms around her self and sighed. Aj watched her and decided not to bother hear.

Nick and Mel finaly found a spot away from everyone else and sat down.

"so what..." Before Nick could finish his sentence Mel kissed him.

"i couldn't resist" Mel said

"well its nice to kno that i'm irresistable to you"

"yep i admit it Nick I can't resist you" Mel said half laughing. Nick pulled Mel closer to him kissing her softly on the lips.

"you are just as irresistable to me" Mel smiled and kissed Nick again just as the first firework went off.

"Wow!" Mel said looking up at the sky.

Howie walked along the beach and stopped when the fireworks started.

"beautiful" Howie turned and saw a women standing next to him.

"huh?"

"the show it's beautiful"

"whats your name?"Howie asked ,p>"Maria"

"hi Maria i'm Howie" Howie said extending his hand

"I know who you are and it's nice to meet you Howie" Maria said shaking his hand

"oh"

"i'm not a crazed fan or anything" She smiled

"thats good to know" Howie said smiling There was an awkward silence and neither of them saying a word. They just stared at the display. Howie ocasionaly glanced at her.

Aj walked over to Leah and sat next to her. She looked at Aj and stood up walking away. Aj sighed and stood up cathcing up with her.

"Leah wait"

"leave me alone Aj" yelled Aj grabbed Leahs arm turning her around to face him.

"would you just listen to me"

"No" Leah said and turned around to walk away

"I love you Leah" Aj said.

"what?" Leah said turning to face Aj Aj walked up to Leah and stood infront of her.

"I said I love you" he repeated Leah stood there shocked and confused. Sj took Leah's hand in his and looked into her eyes.

"I'm sorry about what happened. I just could'nt stand seeing you with Michael. I couldn't hold m,y feelings in any longer. I wanted you to know how I felt and if you didn't feel the same then that was something i'd have to live with. But when you kissed me back I thought you felt the same way I guess you didn't and now you hate"

"I don't hate you Aj. It's just that i dunno I loved Michael but when you kissed me i wanted to kiss you back. I lost Michael and I blamed you for it but it wasn't your fault it was mine. I kissed you and I wanted to kiss you"

"you did?" Aj asked

"yeah I did and thats why I was mad because i was supposed to be inlove with Michael but I wantd to kiss you" Aj walked closer to Leah and took her face in his hand and kissed her. He pulled back and looked into her eyes to see what she was thinking. Aj kissed Leah again this time letting his tongue slip in her mouth.

Eveyone watched the last of the display and walked back to their cars.

"that was nice" Kristen said huggin Kevin

"yeah it was" Leah said

"in more ways than one" AJ added looking at Leah.

"did we miss something" Mel asked

"yeah but i'll tell you later" Leah said Mel nodded and looked around teh group.

"umm wheres D?"Mel asked

"i dunno he walked away form us right before the display" Aj said

"thats great now we have to look for him"

"look for who?" Howie said walking up to them.

"you, where have you been?" Kevin asked

"I was talking to this lovely young lady by the name of Maria"

"ohhhhhh" Howie blushed and walked to his car. Everyone got in their cars and drove home.

"Did you have fun" Nick asked once they got in teh house

"yep" Mel said wrapping her arms around Nick and kissing him.

"i'm sleepy"

"me to lets go to bed" Mel said turning around and walking in teh direction to the bedroom. Nick followed Mel and wrapped his arms around her stomach. He felt Mel tense up and stop walknig.

"you ok"

"yeah i'm fine" Mel said as she walked into the room.

"you sure?" Nick asked

"yeah i'm fine" Mel said trying not to look Nick in teh eye.

"Mel tell me whats wrong"

"nothings wrong Nick"

"yes it is tell me" Mel ran her hand over her stomach and looked at Nick.

"Nick I.."

"you what?"

"I'm pregnant"

"Max is the father?"Nick asked

"yeah"

"oh"

"Nick you don't have to worry I'll go back home if..."

"what no your not going back there your gonna stay here with me"

"No Nick it's not your responsibility and I don't want to put that on you. I can't"

"yes you can and i'm not taking no for an answer. I don't care who the father is I love you Mel and were together and i'm gonna help you rasie the baby"

"No"

"Mel you can't raise a child alone"

"but.."

"no buts I'm not taking no for an answer" Nick said. Mel looked at Nick and wrapped her arms around him.

"what would I do without you"

"i have no idea" Nick said Mel laughed and looked at Nick.

"I love you"

"i love you to" Nick said. " and you to little guy, or girl"Nick said touching Mels stomach.
