Chapter 1
AJ McLean sighed in
contentment. Life couldn't be better. His career was taking off to places he
couldn't even imagine; he had the best friends anyone could ever wish for; and
he was about to marry the absolute love of his life. Who could want more?
"Alex, honey," a
sweet and musical voice called from the kitchen. "If we don't get going,
we're going to be late. Personally, I'm really not in the mood to deal with
Nick being pissed at us for being late again."
AJ laughed. If there was one
thing his best friend Nick did better then anyone else, it was being pissy. He
did it so well.
Walking into the kitchen, he wrapped his arms around his fiance.
"Maybe we can forget about it and just stay home," he wispered into
her hair huskily. "We could always have our own...party."
"Alex! Be good, you
know how much this means to Nick and the guys," Sarah Martin excaimed.
"Besides, we can always come home and hold our own celebration."
"Have I ever told you
how much I love you?"
"Not resently you
haven't," Sarah replied with a smile.
"Mmm, maybe I should
fix that."
Turning around so she was
facing him, Sarah kissed him. "Tonight?"
"Pormise."
"Well then let's go so we
can get beack here in time for our celebration."
AJ laughed and picked Sarah
u[ off her feet. "Your chariot awaits, M'Lady."

"ALEX! Why do you always
have to do this to me? I worked my ass off to make this the perfect wedding
shower and you have to go and ruin it by showing up an hour late. Can't you
show up on time for once in your life, or are you planning on being late for
your own wedding?" Nick Carter looked at AJ trying to apear like he was
insulted.
"Nicky, relax, I got
here didn't I?" AJ asked, laughing.
"What's so funny? You
think everything's one big joke don't you?"
"Nicky, I've known you
for how long? I know when you're trying to act insulted and when you actually
are. I do have to admit though, you're getting better at almost fooling
me."
With his arms folded across
his chest, Nick playfully stuck out his tung out at AJ. "Thank's a lot,
McLean. You're a riot yourself."
Kevin Richardson laughed and put his arm around the younger man
shoulders, "Just let him be. I don't think he can think of anything but
the fact that he's getting married in a week. I know Rok couldn't."
"Speaking of, Train,
when do you plan on getting hiched yourself?" AJ asked grinning at the
older man. Two years ago, Kevin almost gotten married himself. Unfortunately,
Kristin had deside that her career was more important then anything else and so
she had left him.
Kevin smiled softly,
"You never know what life brings us."
"Oh my God! Kev's got
someone!" AJ said, fringing a heart-attack.
"Thanks, Bone. I hate
to burst you're bubble, but...no. I don't, at least I don't right now. But God
only knows."
"And you're full of
shit, Train."
"I thought this party
was about you and Sarah, not about my non-existent love life. So, let's get
this house rockin'. That is if AJ's up to it."
AJ looked at Kevin in
disbelief. "What do you think? Of course I'm up to it!"
For the next several hours
the Boys and Sarah partied harder then they ever had in their past. After all,
it wasn't every day a Backstreet Boy got married. the celibration lasted until
early into the next morning.
"Hey guys, I'm sorry to
be the barer of bad news, but I've got to get Alex home," Sarah sid to the
guys. "He promised me a celebration of our own and I want to take him up
on the offer before he's to tired to think strait."
Cat-calls started being
thrown in AJ's direction. Any outsider could tell they loved ther younger
brother dearly.
"Thanks, Sar-Sar. I've
got to be getting home myself. I have...a few things to take care of
myself," Kevin said, a slight blush running across his face.
"You know, for a guy
who doesn't have a girlfriend, you act too much like you're already married.
Come on, Kev, what are you not telling us?" AJ teased.
"Nothing, I swear. It's
just...I've got some things to take care of at home. It's important to me. I
promise, when the time's right, I'll tell you all what I've been up to.
Deal?"
"I'll find out before
then, you know that Train."
"Not this time."
"Come on, Alex. Let's
get home. Please?" Sarah begged.
AJ chuckled, "Let's get
you home princess. See you guys later."

Thanks for coming with me
tonight," AJ said, smiling at Sarah as he pulled out of Nick's driveway.
"Why wouldn't I? I love
you, Alex."
"I know you do, but you
still could have stayed home. I mean, it had to be somewhat borring for you
just to sit and watch us act like..."
"Five year olds?"
she asked, chuckling. "Actually, I enjoyed it. It was definately better
than staying home and watching borring old movies on the tv."
AJ laughed and put his free arm around her shoulders. "You're
the best wife a guy could ask for."
"Hey, we're not married
yet," Sarah said, kissing his cheek. Lowering her head until it rested on
his shoulder, Sarah let out a contented sigh.
"You know, we could
always elope tonight. That way we don't have to wait."
"No way, mister. I'm
getting you down that isle whether you like it or not. We've been planning this
for months. We're not eloping," Sarah laughed.
Before either of them could
react, a blinding light penitrated the front windshield. AJ swerved the car,
trying to see. The next thing either of them knew, the sound of shattering
glass and scrapping medal penitrated the air.
"Sarah," AJ called
out weekly. "Are you ok?"
Silence filled the air.
"Sarah? Sarah, answere
me, please!" AJ called out, panick rising in his throat trying to choak
him.
Turning his head painfully
twards the passenger side of the vehicle. His stomach tried to revolt against
him at the sight.
Sarah was laying against the
passenger window, blood pouring out of a gash that was on the side of her head.
Her neck was twisted in an angle that no human neck should be in. Her blue eyes
blankly stared out the windshield. Her skin looked like death wouldn't
touch it.
Tears streamed down his
face. "Sarah, no. Please no. I love you to much. Please, don't leave
me," he wispered before sinking into a painless darkness.
